Many critical House committees are being shaken up under incoming Republican Leadership. Among those being booted from their committees are Representatives Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, and Ilhan Omar.
California House Speaker McCarthy justified the changes by saying,
“It’s not like it’s anything new,” McCarthy continued, “Remember, this is what Nancy Pelosi – this is the type of Congress she wanted to have.”

He called out fellow Californian Eic Swallwell’s reputation for spending time with Chinese spy Fang Fang, “Swalwell can’t get a security clearance in the private sector; I’m not going to give him a government security clearance.” Fang Fang helped Swallwell raise funds for his 2014 campaign. Swalwell was briefed by the FBI regarding her ties to the CCP but kept her as a social media friend. However, Pelosi allowed Swallwell to remain on the Intelligence Committee despite his Chinese ties.
McCarthy criticized Adam Schiff’s dishonest reputation saying, “Schiff has lied too many times to the American public. He should not be on Intel.” Schiff, who also sat on the Intelligence Committee, led the first House impeachment trial against Donald Trump and is upset McCarthy intends to keep him off the Intelligence Committee.
Minnesota Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar has been at the center of many scandals and has even drawn criticism from the Democrat party over numerous anti-Semitic comments and sentiments. Omar served on the foreign affairs committee.

Congressman Troy Nehls tweeted, “Speaker McCarthy confirms that Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, and Ilhan Omar are getting kicked off the Intel and Foreign Affairs Committees.
Promises made. Promises kept!”

In a conversation with Sebastian Gorka, Rep. Nehls was asked how the GOP would fight back for the American people. He highlighted the power of the Freedom Caucus, saying the members of the Freedom Caucus are committed to stopping any legislation that does not benefit the American people. He stated, “there is a crisis at every corner” that the Biden administration has created over the past two years.

The Freedom Caucus was responsible for delaying Rep. McCarthy’s speakership appointment by negotiating for new House rules that would help the American people and pushing McCarthy to make the necessary changes to committee appointments.
