A Somali man rampaged through the streets of Central London in Russell Square killing one American and injuring several more.

A woman has died and up to five people have been injured in a possible terrorist knife attack in central London.

Police confirmed a man was arrested after being seen ‘brandishing a knife’ and ‘injuring people’ in front of horrified onlookers in Russell Square last night.
Officers arrived at the scene to find six people injured including one woman who died from her injuries a short time later. The condition of the other five is not yet known and police have not yet named or revealed the ages of the victims.
The woman’s body is still believed to be at the scene with a forensics tent covering it on the pavement. Suited forensic officers also remain at the scene collecting evidence.
One source said the suspect was seen to go ‘on the rampage’ with the weapon.
The Met said the suspect was detained after being Tasered at the scene of the incident – opposite the three-star Imperial Hotel – at around 10.40pm last night.
It is understood police have cordoned off the area and there is a heavy presence of officers and paramedics at the scene. The Met said ‘additional units’ had been deployed.

According to police, cops and paramedics were called to the scene at 11:33pm on Wednesday after witnesses reported seeing a man attacking people with a knife.

One female was treated at the scene but was pronounced dead not long after.

The suspect was arrested at 11:39pm and tasered by one of the arresting officers.
