President Trump just announced on the South Lawn of the White House that Chief of Staff John Kelly will leave his position at the end of the year:

“John Kelly will be leaving – I don’t know if I can say ‘retiring.’” “But, he’s a great guy. John Kelly will be leaving at the end of the year”

President Trump had previously said that Kelly would stay through 2020 but is now leaving. He was recently interviewed by the Mueller special counsel. Could that have been the straw for Trump? It was recently reported that the two men were not on speaking terms.

According to Maggie Haberman of the NYT:

“Mr. Kelly and Mr. Trump have grown weary of with each other. But Mr. Trump, according to several senior administration officials and people close to him, has so far been unable to bring himself to personally fire a retired four-star military general.”

There had been rumblings of Kelly’s departure before now from some in the media like leftist NYT reporter Maggie Haberman who tweeted out that the Senior staff meeting was canceled on Friday:

Senior staff meeting canceled. Lights are off in Kelly’s office this morning, per a senior admin official. But as of an hour ago, he hadn’t been fired or resigned. There is a staff holiday dinner tonight that aides still expect him to attend.

SCARAMUCCI CLAIMS IT’S ‘VERY OBVIOUS’ THAT JOHN KELLY DISLIKES TRUMP:

Jennifer Jacobs of Bloomberg News also tweeted out a prediction yesterday:

The media had predicted this so many times we lost count.

We’re noticing that the same media that precited Kelly’s departure is now claiming that John Kelly possibly sold out to Mueller over the Trump obstruction charge.

The Trump team of lawyers objected to Kelly being interviewed but then agreed.

Since Kelly is the second Chief of Staff for President Trump, it would be unlikely that there would be anything Kelly would be able to say to the Mueller team.
