With Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ departure as White House Press Secretary, speculation had been that her replacement would be the first lady’s spokesperson.

Well, the speculation was right…

The new White House Press Secretary is Stephanie Grisham. She will also be the White House Communications Director. She will remain on as the spokesperson for the first lady as well as press secretary for the president making her the spokesperson for both the East and West Wing.

Grisham has gained a reputation as one tough cookie (see video below) when battling with the media over any hit aimed at First Lady Melania Trump. She’s a team player and that’s what this president needs more than anything.

Grisham will be traveling with President Trump this week to Japan and Korea.

First Lady Melania Trump tweeted:

“I am pleased to announce @StephGrisham45 will be the next @PressSec & Comms Director! She has been with us since 2015 – @potus & I can think of no better person to serve the Administration & our country. Excited to have Stephanie working for both sides of the @WhiteHouse.”

President Trump previously commented on Grisham: “Stephanie is terrific”

One of the most notable times Grisham defended the first lady was on Fox & Friends last December:

The first lady’s spokeswoman lashed out at critics of Melania Trump in her first TV interview. Speaking to “Fox and Friends” Monday morning, Stephanie Grisham responded to an op-ed on CNN.com that claimed Mrs. Trump “doesn’t understand what it means to be the first lady.” “Just hours before that op-ed posted, she was at a hospital here in D.C. visiting children and reading them a Christmas story,” Grisham said. Grisham said Mrs. Trump is “not going to be deterred.”

Sarah Sanders tweeted that Grisham “will be an incredible asset to the president and the country.”
