On Saturday, President Trump’s administration announced that all sanctions against Iran would be restored. After the announcement, the secretary-general of the United Nations said that the UN would not support the restoration of sanctions unless the Security Council first signs off on the penalties.
It’s no surprise that the UN is refusing to back the sanctions on Iran and gives the US one more reason to defund the United Nations.
The NY Post is reporting that Antonio Guterres wrote a letter to council members on Sunday that “there would appear to be uncertainty” over whether Secretary of State Mike Pompeo can trigger a “snapback” mechanism in the Security Council’s resolution on the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.
Secretary Pompeo:
Last night at midnight, the @UN sanctions snapped back, putting another increasing restraint on the capacity for the Islamic Republic of Iran to create harm in the Middle East. The United States has led and will prevent arms trafficking by Iran. pic.twitter.com/FrF4y1ARVW

The regime’s human right violations are off the charts yet the leaders in Iran want the backing of the world community against the US:
