A black male, Jacob Blake, was shot by Kenosha police officers in Kenosha, WI late this afternoon.

Kenosha News reports – The man, identified as Jacob Blake, was in serious condition at a Milwaukee-area hospital after he was shot when officers were sent to the 2800 block of 40th Street late Sunday afternoon for what police called a domestic incident.

More than 60 people were gathered following the shooting at the scene with several saying that the Black man was trying to break up a verbal altercation between two women shortly after 5 p.m.

According to the release, officers provided immediate aid to the man, who was transported via Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. The man was in serious condition. Police radio traffic indicated that a landing zone was established at Bradford High School just before 5:30 p.m. and the man was then transported.

Kenosha Police released a statement about the incident.

The video below taken by an onlooker shows what REALLY happened when police attempted to arrest Jacob Blake.

The video below shows Jacob walking away from the police. The police officer walking behind him has his gun drawn. It’s not clear what the police are saying to him, but Blake keeps walking away and proceeds to open the driver’s side of a vehicle and reach inside. The police officer behind him pulls on his t-shirt, as he tries to stop him from entering the vehicle, but he continues to move inside the vehicle, leaning down as though he’s grabbing at something. The police officer then appears to open fire on the suspect.

Protesters are now rioting at the scene.

Protesters have thrown some type of incendiary weapon that set multiple fires at the scene of the officer-involved shooting. According to Lauren Linder, law enforcement is in riot and military gear as they defend themselves against the rioters.

 

The vehicle where the shooting took place has been towed away. According to CBS 58’s Kim Shine: There’s a few dozen people protesting. Some have stomped atop at least one cop car. Some tires slashed. Officers are inside the tape. Some talking w/ crowd.

Police have confirmed that one person is in serious condition.

Police have tear-gassed the protesters outside of the Kenosha Police Department.
