Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) started out his questioning of the Trump-hating, FBI agent, Peter Strzok, by pointing out that he used a government-issued cell phone to text Lisa Page, the FBI employee he was having an extramarital affair with. Issa asked Strzok if he ever texted Lisa Page on his private phone, and if he did, did her ever text similar anti-Trump messages to his lover on his personal or private phone?

Issa then told Strzok that he had a single sheet of paper in front of him. Rep. Issa explained to Strzok: “I’m gonna just go to a  date and then just read your own words”

Strzok appeared to be stunned that Issa was asking him to read his texts aloud.

He asked Rep. Issa, “You want me to read this?”

Issa responded, “Yes, please.”

Strzok: “OMG, he’s an idiot.”

Issa then told him to refer to the May 4, 2016 text.

Strzok: “Now the pressure really starts finish MYE.”

Issa:  “July 19, 2016.”

Strzok: “Hi, how was Trump other than a douche? Melania?”

Issa:July 21, 2016”

Strzok: “Trump is a disaster. I have no idea how destabilizing his presidency would be.”

When Issa asked him to read the text from August 6, 2016, Strzok claimed that he didn’t recall writing that particular text.

Issa: “Okay, it’s been attributed to you, so we’ll go on to the next. August 8, 2016, and I’ll preference it by saying this for context, uh…Ms. Page said ‘Not ever going to become president, right, right?’”

Strzok: “No, no he’s not, we’ll stop it,”

Issa:“Repeat that again.”

Strzok: “No, no he’s not, we’ll stop it.”

Issa:”August 15, 2016.”

Strzok: “I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office, that there’s no way he gets elected, but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk. It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40.”

Issa: “On October 20, 2016”

Strzok: “‘Uh…I can’t pull away, what the… and I deferred to the Chairman, whether or not…”

Issa: “You can just use one letter if you don’t mind.”

Strzok: “What the “F” happened to our country, Lis?'”

Issa: “Okay, read it again that way.”

Strzok:”Sir, did you not? You just wanna hear it for me to repeat it?”

Strzok: “Okay, sure. I’m happy to indulge you. ‘I can’t pull away. What the “F” happened to our country, Lis?'”

Darrell Issa continued: “Why in the world do you believe that this committee should not ask for the record of similar texts from your private account to find out what else you might have said about insurance policies or about the President of the United States, or about investigation. That is a rhetorical question, you need not answer.”
