A Michigan State Police Trooper is thanking Good Samaritans who stopped to help as he was being attacked following a chase on the freeway.

The chase happened in February on U.S. 31 near the Indiana border but the video was only released this week. Trooper Garry Guild was attempting to make a traffic stop, when the motorcycle sped away and led him on a chase.
The motorcycle rider, Michael Barber, was riding the bike that was allegedly stolen. Barber slowed down once before he sped off to try and elude the Trooper. He ended up crashed in a ditch where the State Trooper approached him to make an arrest. Then Barber’s brother pulled up in a car and the attack on the trooper started.

What happened next is such a stroke of luck and amazing kindness! Jerry Burnham and his wife stopped to help along with another driver who stopped. They helped the trooper restrain and arrest the men. This could have ended much differently…this is the risk our law enforcement go through each and every day! Something to think about when people want to take down a BLUE LIVES MATTER flag because they consider it racist or offensive…

Barber and Wise are charged with assault, resisting an officer, and several other counts…Trooper Guild is back on the job and thankful to be alive!
