A prosecutor dealing with the case of one of the inmates that escaped from a California jail has compared him to the cannibalistic movie villain Hannibal Lecter.
Heather Brown said Hossein Nayeri is ‘diabolical’ as authorities revealed they are focusing their search on the suburb surrounding the Orange County lock-up where the three prisoners escaped on Friday.
Police are trying to find Nayeri, 37, Jonathan Tieu, 20, and Bac Duong, 43, and are investigating how they managed to flee the Central Men’s Jail in Santa Ana.
Authorities are currently playing catch-up, as it was revealed they had a 16-hour window between when they broke free and when guards realized they had gone.
In a bid to track them down, the reward for information leading to their capture has been quadrupled to $200,000.
‘My first reaction was: Oh, my God, they let Hannibal Lecter out. He is sophisticated, incredibly violent and cunning,’ Brown told the Orange County Register. Via: Daily Mail
