The City of Chicago just hit Jussie Smollett with a doozy of a lawsuit that could cost him his job on the TV show ‘Empire’.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and The Chicago Police Department are furious that all 16 charges on Smollett for his hate hoax were dropped.

The case smells to high heaven with the Chicago State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and Michelle Obama’s former Chief of Staff in the hot seat. The FBI and DOJ are now looking into what happened in this case and why it was suddenly dropped.

The deman letter filed by the City of Chicago against Smollett is for $130,000. The payment is for the overtime costs to the CPD for investigating the hate hoax. This sets up a civil lawsuit where Smollett will have to testify. If he is proven to have committed a hate hoax, this will give the ‘Empire’ powers that be the ammo to fire him.

Smollett’s lawyers wasted no time in rejecting the letter and saying the City of Chicago and the mayor owe Smollett an apology!

Jussie Smollett’s attorney just gave an interview to NBC News in which she claimed he’s been “victimized”. It’s hard to believe that Tina Glandian could say this with a straight face but it is her job to lie for her client.

She even gave an interview to the Chicago media yesterday in which she called Smollett the victim:

“I think if they believed the charges they never would have dismissed the case. It’s such a high-profile matter. Everyone has been talking about it. Obviously it’s made national headlines….They could have proceeded in a variety of ways. We were ready to move forward. We appeared in court, we pled not guilty. We were ready to fight the charges and they’re ones who voluntarily discontinued the matter so I think that speaks volumes.”

“He did not ask for any of this. He was a victim of a crime. This has completely spiraled out of control and become a political event at this point and his goal and focus right now is just getting his life back on track. He has not even started healing from the initial attack because he’s been dealing with everything that has happened since then. I don’t know. I mean, we’re shocked at the mayor and the police superintendent doubling down yesterday when the prosecutor after a dispassionate look at the evidence realized it does not hold up and chose to voluntarily dismiss all counts and expunge his record so we’ll weigh our options and see how this develops.”

She spoke to NBC’s Savannah Guthrie this morning and continued the charade:

He at this point again has been victimized much more by what’s happened afterwards than what happened that night.”

Smollett was suddenly cleared of all 16 charges on Tuesday. The FBI and DOJ are now looking into what happened and why Smollett was cleared.
