CNN is in hot water with black journalists who are “monitoring” the network:
The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) just added CNN to a “special media monitoring list” because they claim the network isn’t diverse enough. The monitoring includes looking into CNN’s diversity and inclusion but also calls for a “civil rights audit” that examines how black employees are treated.
The group noted that there are no black executive producers or black vice presidents or senior vice presidents employed at CNN.
If you look a little deeper, it’s more than who is employed at the network. There is a rift going on between the network’s president Jeff Zucker and the NABJ VP Roland Martin so the group is strong-arming CNN in an ironic twist of fate.
Wondering what Don Lemon has to say about this development. He’s constantly talking about race and pointing out who is racist. It’s interesting that his own network is now in hot water over their lack of diversity.
The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) has released a statement on CNN. It states CNN:
-Has no black Executive Producers
-Has no black VPs on the news side
-Has no black Senior VPs on the news side
-Has no black direct reports to CNN President Jeff Zucker
