We wish President Trump could clone SENIOR ADVISOR Stephen Miller! He’s so brilliant and knows immigration like no other! We can’t say the same for the White House Press Corp! The Statue of Liberty has NOTHING to do with immigration (see more below) Stephen Miller got the best of Acosta when he schooled him on the Statue of Liberty!

Stephen Miller has been with President Trump from the earlier days of the 2016 campaign. He would give incredible speeches to the rally audience. He’s so well versed on immigration and American history that he could take on anyone and win in a debate! We love the guy! He’s a PATRIOT!

FYI: The Statue of Liberty had nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with immigration. The Emma Lazarus poem that Acosta refers to was affixed to the pedestal as an ex post facto inscription in 1903.

Unfortunately, Acosta has fallen prey to the belief that many Americans hold, which is that Lady Liberty has something to do with immigration; that is just not at all the case. The Statue of Liberty represents Libertas, Roman goddess of Liberty.  The words on it were to commemorate July 4th, 1776.

The famous poem that DOES refer to immigration was a part of a poem called The New Colossus, and it included the lines, “Give me your tired, give me your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” The poem was not part of the creation of the Statue of Liberty and was not delivered with the Statue of Liberty. It was written by Emma Lazarus as a part of a contest to help raise money for the statue’s pedestal.  A bronze tablet bearing the Emma Lazarus poem was only put inside the pedestal in 1903.
