After breathless coverage of supposed Russian collusion between President Trump and the Russian government during the 2016 Presidential election, the media has remained relatively quiet about collusion between the Chinese government and the Democratic Party.
A shocking new report by the Daily Caller has revealed that Chinese government officials, concealing their identity, attempted to boost Democratic candidates during the 2022 midterm elections and attack Republicans.
The government officials used TikTok, which has extensive ties to the Chinese government.
United States companies and national security officials have repeatedly voiced concerns that TikTok has the potential to be used to amplify Chinese government propaganda and to steal the data of US citizens.
The report found that Chinese government affiliated news accounts explicitly targeted Republican Senators that have voiced support for a more muscular foreign policy against China, including Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fl.)
None of the accounts named in the report listed their affiliation with the Chinese government.

TikTok accounts operating as voices of Chinese state media promoted messages that appeared to denigrate Republican candidates and favor Democratic ones ahead of the 2022 midterm elections, according to a Forbes investigation.
While the Chinese-owned social media app has verbally affirmed the need to crack down on election disinformation and foreign interference, several news-oriented accounts failed to disclose their affiliation with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) state-owned media on the platform, Forbes found. The accounts racked up tens of millions views on posts that covered divisive topics, such as abortion and race, as well as critical clips that mostly targeted Republican candidates ahead of the 2022 midterms.
“This opens a new dimension for conversation about TikTok,” Conor Healy, director of government research at surveillance research group IPVM, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
The accounts are managed by MediaLinks TV, which registered as a foreign agent for China with the Treasury Department in 2019.
