President Trump campaigned on putting a halt to the endless wars in the Middle East. Earlier this week, Trump took another significant step in fulfilling his promise to Americans, when he announced he’ll be pulling our US Troops out of Syria, angering Democrats and war-hawks in the Republican Party.

In his 2019 State of the Union address, Trump told Americans, “great nations do not fight endless wars.”

Trump added, “Our brave troops have now been fighting in the middle east for almost 19 years. In Afghanistan and Iraq, nearly 7,000 American heroes have given their lives. More than 52,000 Americans have been badly wounded. We have spent more than $7 trillion in the Middle East.”

“As a candidate for president, I loudly pledged a new approach. Great nations do not fight endless wars.”

BPR reports – In speaking of bringing U.S. troops home from Syria, the president added that he has “accelerated our negotiations to reach a political settlement in Afghanistan.”

At the height of U.S. involvement in Afghanistan, there were 100,000 troops in the country, with Trump saying last month that the Pentagon was cutting the remaining force of 14,000 down to 9,000.

“With Afghanistan, it’s 19 years and we should not have been there 19 years and if we were, you know, it would be nice to fight to win,” the president told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson.

On Monday, The View co-host, Meghan McCain, daughter of the deceased war-monger, Republican Senator John McCain (AZ), had a meltdown over President Trump’s decision to pull our troops out of Syria.

Today, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) appeared on The View to discuss his support for President Trump’s decision to pull our troops from Syria. Meghan McCain was notably absent for Senator Paul’s interview.

Senator Paul held his own, as he was attacked from all sides by the “foreign policy” experts on The View. One of the more entertaining moments took place when the show’s lead host, the far-left Whoopi Goldberg, told Rand Paul that she doesn’t have any allegiance to one party or another. Yeah…okay.

Foreign policy expert Sonny Hostin attempted to explain to Senator Paul how keeping 50 troops in Syria is important for “symbolic reasons.” You tell their parents that. You tell the parents of those 50 kids how great the symbolism was when a suicide bomber blows up all 50 kids.”

Faux Republican Anna Navarro jumped in to offer her foreign policy expertise, “We’re breaking our word to our allies,” asking, “What message does that message send internationally if we abandon them [the Kurds]?”  Senator Paul reminded Navarro that he took an oath to follow the Constitution and that he didn’t promise to take America to war, “I promised not to take the country to war—and so did President Trump, by the way.”
