In a press conference this afternoon, Democrat Senator Joe Manchin (WV) announced to the DNC media that he won’t support Biden’s $1.75T budget package his party has been attempting to jam through. Manchin cited his concern about its impact on national debt & the economy.

Senator Manchin called for a vote on the bipartisan infrastructure bill. A frustrated Senator Manchin told the media, “The political games have to stop!” He called on Democrats in the House to vote on and pass the bipartisan infrastructure framework.

Manchin told reporters at his presser that would not commit to voting in favor of a budget reconciliation plan progressives have been negotiating on. In his statement, Manchin slammed his party for their “shell games” and “budget gimmicks,” saying it was a “recipe for economic crisis.”

“To be clear, I will not support the reconciliation legislation without knowing how the bill would impact our debt and our economy in our country we won’t know that until we work through the text,” Manchin said.
