New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani failed to execute a single unassisted bench press rep at a Brooklyn event, reportedly with a weight of 135 pounds.

The cringe moment happened at the annual Men’s Day open streets event.

“Socialist Zohran Mamdani shows off his muscles at Men’s Day in Brooklyn, needs help from a spotter to bench 135 pounds,” Collin Rugg wrote.

“The 33-year-old was reluctant at first to get under the bar but gave in after being pressured by the locals,” he added.

After throwing in the towel, Mamdani stood up and gave all the credit to the spotter, who was from the organization “500 Men Making a Difference.”

The 2025 frontrunner for mayor also walked down Eastern Parkway as part of an open streets event, taking hundreds of selfies as he passed the Brooklyn Museum.

While he may have floundered at the test of strength, Mamdani showed some skill with the soccer ball, the national sport of Uganda, where he was born and recently married.

Video showed Mamdani taking off his designer boots to more expertly kick the stranger’s soccer ball at an inflatable target.

After ditching the boots, he vigorously kicked a soccer ball at a giant inflatable dart board set up by organizers at the open streets event near the Brooklyn Museum.

Social media users commented on the mayoral frontrunner’s lack of physical strength in the failed bench press attempt.

One X user shared side-by-side footage of Mamdani and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on the bench press.

Mamdani is being mocked on social media for failing at his bench press attempt. An X user wrote, sharing images of Mamdani being helped at his attempt, “Zohran Mamdani tried to show-off at a Men’s Day in Brooklyn on Saturday. He couldn’t even do one unassisted bench press of 135 pounds. So pathetic. He’s 33 years old. His physical strength is as weak as his communist ideas.”

“Indian-Ugandan communist cockroach Zohran Mamdani can’t even hit one rep on bench at 135 lbs,” reads another post on X. “Deport to wherever”.

Another X post reads, “PATHETIC: Democrat NYC Mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani gets pressured into attempting to bench press 135 lbs., and to nobody’s surprise, he is a WEAK little man. Horrible form, doesn’t even touch the bar to his chest, not to mention the spotter had to SAVE him both times.”
