Daily Mail reports:

The armed man, who has not been identified, reportedly pulled a handgun and made threats outside the CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.

Reports indicate the man experienced a ‘mental health crisis’, was seen sitting on a bench outside the property and pointed a handgun at the agency headquarters.

Police, SWAT teams and bomb squads rushed to the scene, and a passerby described the law enforcement response as ‘massive’, per the US Sun.

Early reports falsely indicated the man fired his weapon into the air outside the CIA headquarters, however a law enforcement source told WJLA that no shots were fired in the incident.

There are no reports of injuries or deaths as a result of the situation, which has sent the area around the agency into lockdown as roads are blocked.

“Currently, numerous law enforcement agencies, including SWAT and bomb squad, are on the scene in McLean, Virginia, after an armed male suspect was seen walking outside CIA headquarters, reportedly firing multiple shots into the air,” Rawsalerts wrote.

“The CIA headquarters is on lockdown, but no injuries have been reported at this time. Emergency personnel are urging the public to avoid the area as the situation continues to develop,” the post added.

From The U.S. Sun:

The CIA has confirmed that there were “threats” at the gate, which is less than 10 miles from Washington, D.C., but has yet to provide any further details about the incident.

The CIA and local cops didn’t immediately respond to The U.S. Sun’s requests for comment.

A live stream of the incident on Facebook shows a dozen officers gathered around the entrance with other vehicles surrounding the area.

The incident Wednesday morning isn’t the first time that danger has surrounded the CIA’s headquarters.
