Yesterday, during House Intel Committee hearing Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) sharply criticized the Democrats and their reliance on the Mueller report to justify their false attacks on President Trump.

In Nunes’s opening statement, he noted that allegations of collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign were perpetrated by Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee more than two years ago.

“The entire scheme has now imploded, and the collusion accusation has been exposed as a hoax,” Nunes said.

Nunes also compared the Mueller report to the Steele dossier, noting that it’s “written in the same spirit, and with the same purpose, as the Steele dossier, which was once championed by Democrats on this committee, but which they rarely mentioned after it was exposed as yet another Democrat-created hoax.”

Nunes chided the Democrats for refusing to let their phony Trump-Russia witch hunt die, claiming that for two years, they  claimed to “have evidence that Trump colluded with the Russians to hack the 2016 election,” Nunes continued, “and more than two years since they read false allegations from the Steele dossier into the congressional record in front of this committee.” Nunes tore into the Democrats and their friends in the media for their shameful, unfounded attacks on President Trump, saying, “Eventually the Democrats became convinced that the Mueller report would that would finally rid them of their sinister president who had the audacity to defeat Hillary Clinton.” Nunes zinged the Democrat for failing to do their jobs, telling them, “The entire scheme has now imploded and the collusion accusation has been exposed as a hoax. One would think that the Democrats would simply apologize and get back to lawmaking and oversight, but it’s clear they couldn’t stop this grotesque spectacle, even if they wanted to.”

Nunes wasn’t finished exposing the lies of the Democrats…

Daily Caller – Last night after the hearing, Nunes appeared on the Hannity Show where he told host Sean Hannity that California Rep. Devin he has finally seen the Justice Department memo that laid out the parameters of the special counsel’s probe. Nunes said that the Aug. 2, 2017 memo shows the infamous and unverified Steele dossier was relevant to the special counsel’s probe.

“Ultimately, that Steele dossier permeated all the way through, ultimately to the special counsel,” said Nunes, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee.

“I was finally able to see the scope memo,” he continued. “And remember, I had these concerns that it was based upon the Steele dossier.”

Nunes said he was unable to talk about what else is in the memo, seemingly because it contains classified information.

This morning, Washington Examiner’s chief political correspondent Byron York tweeted out an important reminder about how Robert Steele was NOT the source for the phony Steele dossier that was funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the DNC but was sourced instead, by Russian officials, including a senior Kremlin official. In other words, the dossier was sourced by Russians and paid for by Democrats. Who exactly, was colluding with the Russians?

Democrats have tried to downplay the significance of the Steele dossier to the Trump-Russia probe. They’ve pointed out that the dossier, which former British spy Christopher Steele wrote and Democrats funded, was not the catalyst for the FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign, which started on July 31, 2016.

The FBI did rely heavily on the dossier for some parts of its investigation. The bureau used the salacious document to obtain Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants against Carter Page, a Trump campaign aide.

Will the media ever call out the Democrats for colluding with the Russians to overthrow a legitimately elected president? Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
