Donald Trump said Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is the “most radical left candidate” in the 2024 presidential election following his vice presidential announcement on Tuesday.

However, Trump commented that RFK Jr.’s VP selection is “great for MAGA.”

“RFK Jr. is the most Radical Left Candidate in the race, by far. He’s a big fan of the Green New Scam, and other economy killing disasters. I guess this would mean he is going to be taking votes from Crooked Joe Biden, which would be a great service to America. His running mate, Nicole Shanahan, is even more ‘Liberal’ than him, if that’s possible. Kennedy is a Radical Left Democrat, and always will be!!!” Trump said on Truth Social.

“It’s great for MAGA, but the Communists will make it very hard for him to get on the Ballot. Expect him, and her, to be indicted any day now, probably for Environmental Fraud! He is Crooked Joe Biden’s Political Opponent, not mine. I love that he is running!” he added.

The Hill reports:

Kennedy announced Tuesday at an event in Oakland, Calif., that tech attorney and entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan would be his running mate, calling her a daughter of immigrants “who overcame every daunting obstacle and went on to achieve the highest levels of the American dream.”

“That is why I’m so proud to introduce to you, the next vice president of the United States, my fellow lawyer, a brilliant scientist, technologist, a fierce warrior-mom, Nicole Shanahan,” the long-shot candidate said in his announcement.

The national polling index from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ shows Kennedy is trailing Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee, and President Biden by about 30 points each. The numbers show the former president with 41.5 percent support, Biden with 39.1 percent and Kennedy with 9.9 percent.

Democrats also criticized Kennedy following his news about Shanahan, arguing he is serving as a “spoiler” to Biden, propelled by GOP funds.

Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) said he is “personally offended and just disgusted by” Kennedy’s campaign during a call hosted by the Democratic National Committee Tuesday.

“He should be ashamed of himself,” Garcia continued. “He should stop running for president.”

“I wanted a VP who cares about healing our children, protecting our environment, restoring our soils, and getting the chemicals out of our food,” RFK Jr. said.

“There is only one moment in time and one candidate that I would step into this capacity for. That time is now and that candidate is Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.,” Shanahan said.

“I believe, very strongly, that focusing on the health and well-being of our youth is the key to a strong America. That means honestly looking at the root causes of where childhood development is being sidelined. We have the tools to prioritize American wellness, we just need to use them,” she added.

From Kennedy24:

Kennedy introduced his running mate enthusiastically, describing how he “wanted a VP who will speak for millennials and Gen Z. Someone who cares about healing our children, protecting our environment, restoring our soils, and getting the chemicals out of our food, and who understands how technology will either enslave us or give us a path back to freedom and prosperity.”

“From our first meeting,” Kennedy said, “Nicole’s intellectual capacity left me awestruck. I knew right then I wanted her as my vice president and I knew America was going to fall in love with her.”

Shanahan’s work on behalf of honest governance, racial equality, regenerative agriculture, and children’s and maternal health has put her at the forefront of many of the country’s most urgent needs.

Today’s event reaffirms the key principles of the Kennedy campaign of restoring the middle class, ending the chronic disease epidemic, unwinding the war machine, and unraveling corporate capture of our government agencies.

The Kennedy campaign has launched a robust ballot access plan to ensure the Kennedy/Shanahan ticket is on the ballot in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

“RFK’s VP choice, Nicole Shanahan, is a six-figure donor to… George Gascon, the pro-crime, Soros-backed prosecutor who helped wreck San Francisco and is currently wrecking LA. She also spent big on Measure J, a Los Angeles measure to reroute spending from law enforcement and prisons to ‘social services’ and ‘mental health treatment’ — in other words, not putting criminals and dangerous psychos behind bars,” Charlie Kirk commented.

“This is a far-left pick by RFK, who is apparently looking to shore up his progressive bona fides. Major red flag for commonsense independents and centrist voters who are also sick of rising crime but intrigued by his campaign,” he added.

Chris Brennan said in an op-ed for USA Today that RFK Jr.’s vice presidential selection confirmed his “improbable bid for the presidency always looked more like a vanity project than a political campaign.”

Per USA Today:

Nicole Shanahan, a Silicon Valley tech entrepreneur with very deep pockets, serves as a perfect mirror for Kennedy’s conspiratorial take on politics and corporations and medicine and America.

She used her political coming out party in Oakland, California, to suggest that one of the causes of her own daughter’s autism was vaccines and medicine typically given to children. This is right in line with the controversial and contested views Kennedy has espoused for years.

Kennedy’s kindred spirit also has the cash to keep his campaign going. Shanahan, who was formerly married to Google co-founder Sergey Brin, had donated about $4 million to Kennedy and helped pay for more than half of a $7 million commercial for his campaign during the Super Bowl.

As running mates go, they’re made for each other. She shares his odd views and can pay for his platform, feeding him validation and attention.

As politicians, they have no chance to win but every chance to tilt November’s election, likely in Donald Trump’s favor.
