On October 15, 2017, DNC Midwest Caucus Chair, Ron Harris, who refers to himself as “Chief Resilience Officer” on his Twitter profile, tweeted a response to a tweet from the same date in 2017. In his tweet, the person who goes by “Joshua” was responding to a tweet by the former US Senator, Al Franken (D-MN) about the worst terror attack in Somalia’s history. “Joshua” claimed the worst terrorist attack in Somalia history was the Battle of Mogadishu, where “19 US armed forces” were killed and “73 wounded.”

Ron Harris quickly pointed out that “all lives matter,” implying that his tweet was suggesting the lives of the Somalians were less important than those of the US troops.

US Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who has been called out for multiple occurrences of anti-Semitic rhetoric, both before and after becoming a US Congresswoman, responded to Ron Harris’ response, by blasting our U.S. troops for killing Somalis. Omar was referring to the Battle of Mogadishu, that started out as a peacekeeping operation in Somalia, under President Bill Clinton, that turned into a horrific mission of survival for our US troops who came under attack by Somalian militiamen, as well as Somali citizens.

The Battle for Mogadishu evolved from a well-planned kidnapping to an all-out fight for the lives of American Special Forces. The public forum mainly remembers the image of dead, half-naked, mutilated soldiers being dragged through the streets of the city though the event proved deeper than the much-publicized, unforgettable conclusion. The operation was riddled with poor intelligence and equally-poor strategic decisions. Operation Restore Hope placed Special Forces in a position that they were not specifically trained for – civilian crowd control and urban fighting.

In another very telling moment, Omar refers to “Joshua” as “Satan,” using the hashtag #NotTodaySatan.

Omar tweeted the following response: “In his selective memory, he forgets to also mention the thousands of Somalis killed by the American forces that day!

Donald Trump Jr. just tweeted Omar’s stunning response to the DNC Midwest Caucus Chair, asking, “Is the media going to ask every Democrat if they agree with Ilhan Omar that American troops are killers?!?”

Did Donald Trump Jr. misread what Omar was saying in her tweet, or was she accusing American soldiers who ended up fighting for their lives in the hell-hole of Somalia of being killers?  Tell us what you think about Omar’s tweet in the comment section below.
