NBC News previously reported that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis privately told donors he intends to raise funds for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

DeSantis reportedly made the comments during a private gathering at South Florida’s Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

“He did say it in front of a group of people at the Hard Rock,” a DeSantis adviser told the outlet.

The announcement follows DeSantis dropping out of the GOP presidential primary and endorsing Trump in the 2024 election.

According to RSBN, Trump praised DeSantis after hearing reports the Florida governor would help fundraise for his presidential campaign.

“Welcome back,” Trump reportedly commented.

RSBN reports:

According to RSBN, Trump commented on this rumored possibility at an event on Wednesday at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, remarking “welcome back” to the governor.

Trump explained, “Today, I heard very nice things. I heard he’s going to campaign very hard for me. And he’s going to raise a lot of money for me. Ron, we like you. Welcome back.”

Trump also confirmed that he had raised around $14 million in fundraising cash on Wednesday alone, per RSBN. The money was raised between dual fundraisers – one in Atlanta, Georgia, and another event in Orlando, Florida.

Per NBC’s initial report, former co-chair of DeSantis’s national finance advisory board, Roy Bailey, told the outlet of the Florida governor’s likely move to raise money for Trump, “I will follow the governor’s lead and I will do anything that he or President Trump ask me to do to help him win this election.”

From The Post Millennial:

Likely GOP nominee for the 2024 election Donald Trump took to the stage at Mar-a-Lago on Wednesday night after a day of campaigning and spoke about who raised money for the campaign. He made special note of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who pledged to campaign for Trump and told him “Welcome back.”

According to the National Pulse, Trump spoke for about an hour at the fundraiser event after going around campaigning in Atlanta, Georgia, and Orlando, Florida.

“Today, I heard very nice things. I heard he’s going to campaign very hard for me. And he’s going to raise a lot of money for me. Ron, we like you. Welcome back.”

Trump’s remarks during the evening at the golf club in West Palm Beach also touched on recent wins such as the IPO of Truth Social and the work that many did to make it happen.
