If you’ve tried to access Twitter/X today, you probably found out it wouldn’t load.
It’s been down almost all day, which is the longest attack I’ve ever seen.
Usually sites are back up in 5-10 minutes max, especially the big sites.
But this attack was massive, far larger than most, and Elon said early on the amount of resources deployed on this was from someone with extremely deep pockets or perhaps even a country:
There was (still is) a massive cyberattack against 𝕏.
We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved.

That turned out to be prophetic, as later in the day Elon revealed they had traced the attacks to Ukraine servers:

Elon says that they are still looking into exactly what happened, but that the cyberattack is from “IP addresses originating in the Ukraine area”.
Ukraine is a proxy of the US/NATO.
