Elon Musk has been under fire recently for allegedly blocking Ukrainian access to his Starlink satellite network in Crimea last year.
Enraged leftists are trying to label Musk a “traitor” due to the fact that he refused the request from Ukraine’s actor/Prime Minister Volodymyr Zelenskyy to turn Starklink connectivity on in Crimea so that Ukraine could initiate a drone attack against a Russian fleet.
Elizabeth Warren, Jake Tapper, Rachel Maddow and others have been trying to claim Musk is somehow a traitor for this.
The problem is, US sanctions at the time prevented Starlink from being operational in Crimea.
Musk is now setting the record straight on that.
“The Ukrainian government is not in charge of the US people,” claimed Musk when asked about the incident.
“If I had agreed to their request, then SpaceX would be explicitly complicit in a major act of war and conflict escalation,” he concluded.
here is Musk explaining what occurred:
DEBUNKING the "Elon Musk is a Traitor" narrative:
Elon Musk has donated upwards of $100 million to Ukraine by keeping Starlink operational in the country when all other communications channels have been disabled by the Russians. Musk has NOT been repaid by the US Government or… pic.twitter.com/8ler6YhKje

The media had mobilized en masse against Musk.
Watch CNN’s Jake Tapper have an absolute meltdown over the Starlink controversy:

CNN weren’t the only ones who jumped to conclusions and attacked Musk:
MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow claims Elon Musk is deliberately hamstringing Ukraine’s military and says he is “intervening to try to stop Ukraine from winning the war. To try to stop Ukraine from defending itself against this Russian invasion” pic.twitter.com/FuElynNrcM

These leftists never look for facts.
They only look for whatever supports their own narratives.
#ElonMuskIsATraitor is trending because Musk gave Ukraine *free* starlink terminals and didn't allow their service coverage to extend to where they could ostensibly conduct drone attacks on Sevastopol.
For all his faults I do sincerely feel that Musk doesn't want his companies… pic.twitter.com/bIelHFoP6U

The corporate media is sadly trying to spin this to portray @elonmusk as some Russian agent.
The reality is that Starlink was never used in this part of Ukraine, and Musk declined activation due to concerns about his satellite technology being involved in a 'Mini Pearl Harbor'… pic.twitter.com/pRwtPGqzqP

Democrats shocked to find out we are in fact not Ukraine so Elon Musk can't be tried for treason for not escalating a war.

Looks like democrats are just a bunch of war mongers…
He also said the reason Starlink was turned off was because of the U.S. sanctions and he could not turn it on without permission from the U.S. Government since Crimea is under Russian control. It's crazy that he was being attacked by @CNN @jaketapper and @MSNBC @maddow without…

Interesting that the Ukraine government gave Elon the order to turn the star link on without getting in touch with the U.S officials to request Elon or Space X assistance. A one year political science student could have handle such request. Btw, Well answer by Elon.

Much appreciated, Walter.
The onus is meaningfully different if I refused to act upon a request from Ukraine vs. made a deliberate change to Starlink to thwart Ukraine.
At no point did I or anyone at SpaceX promise coverage over Crimea.
Moreover, our terms of service clearly… https://t.co/jmNtScM5LY
