On Friday, billionaire Elon Musk joined the debate about transgender medical treatments for minors.

Allowing a minor to undergo sex-change procedures, or ‘gender-affirming care,’ has been a hot topic lately, prompting heated debate from all sides of the issue. Musk didn’t hold back on how he felt about the issue.

“Any parent or doctor who sterilizes a child before they are a consenting adult should go to prison for life,” Musk tweeted.

His post was in response to a tweet from ‘The Redheaded Libertarian,’ an account owned by political commentator Josie Glabach.

Glabach posted an article from MSNBC that bashed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for pushing to ban sex changes for minors in his state.

Many lawmakers and prominent voices in politics commented on Musk’s post, applauding him for sharing his thoughts on the controversial matter.

TV personality and political commentator Oli London commented, “Thank you for sharing your voice to protect children Elon! Your words will help many people wake up and see the irreparable harm medical transitions on minors is doing.”

Conservative personality Dennis Michael Lynch echoed Musk’s support of DeSantis, saying, “Liberals are absolutely evil, stupid, and upside down. To mutilate a child is insane, and to think Florida is being destroyed is like saying the Sun has gone cold. We have the best state in the USA. I’d give DeSantis kinghood if I could.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) questioned how anyone could disagree with the position Musk took on the issue, asking, “Why is this a controversial statement?”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) also commented on the post, saying, “That’s why I introduced the Protect Children’s Innocence Act that makes it a felony to perform gender-affirming care on children under the age of 18.”

Other Twitter users pointed out the ridiculous notion that parents won’t let children choose their own bedtime and people can’t even get a tattoo until they’re 18 because it’s too permanent, yet a six-year-old can have the mental capacity to know for sure they want a sex change.
