Earlier this week the WWE’s Vince McMahon announced he would be relaunching the XFL football league (video below). He also presented a plan to keep politics out of the league. In other words, no kneeling allowed! Unlike the NFL, the XFL wants to keep the football game away from controversy and just play the sport of football.

CHECK OUT THE STRANGE EXCHANGE ON ESPN:

Friday, ESPN “First Take” moderator Molly Qerim weighed in on the XFL’s plan to keep politics and social issues out of the league, something the NFL has failed to do, calling it “divisive.”

Domonique Foxworth stated, “This idea they are going to use this political wedge issue and social wedge issue as their main marketing campaign, I think that’s a mistake.”

“It feels divisive,” Qerim tacked on. “It almost, the way many have been turned off by the NFL, I think people will equally be turned off by this model. Because I feel a bit turned off by it, to be honest with you, Will, how they are marketing it.”

Qerim replied, “Yeah. That is political.”

“If you’re not political you are political?” Cain asked.

MCMAHON’S ANNOUNCEMENT:

We predicted this a few months ago when the NFL ratings took a nosedive…The opportunity is there for someone to come in and start a football league that competes with the NFL. Enter the WWE’s Vince McMahon:

McMahon says, “we’re going to be listening to the fans”

Problems for the NFL have been with crimes including domestic abuse, Tom Brady “Inflate Gate” and now the kneeling controversy this season.

Sean Hannity reports:

World Wrestling Entertainment chairman Vince McMahon is once again preparing to step into the ring with the National Football League, announcing his plans to start an alternative football organization as the NFL’s ratings tank and fans flee in droves.

According to ESPN, the wrestling powerhouse’s production company, Alpha Entertainment, issued a “media advisory” warning news networks and sports enthusiasts that McMahon was about to unleash a “major sports announcement” by Thursday afternoon.

McMahon attempted a similar feat in 2001, when he launched the ill-fated XFL.

Now, the sports mogul believes the time is right to launch another football league following the NFL’s disastrous 2017 season. The embattled NFL has been hemorrhaging viewers for over a year as furious fans tune-out following months of professional athletes “taking a knee” during the performance of the national anthem.

The issue was thrust into the national spotlight last year, when President Trump called for an all-out boycott on the NFL until owners and officials require their players to remain standing during the ‘Star-Spangled Banner.’

The wrestling titan’s announcement comes as the NFL struggles to regain viewers with the Super Bowl less than two weeks away. Media predictions for the event aren’t good, with the league’s post-season playoff ratings down to their lowest levels in five years.

WHAT’S YOUR TAKE ON THIS NEW FOOTBALL LEAGUE? YES OR NO?
