The European Union parliament condemned the United States this Thursday in anticipation of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v Wade.

The condemnation from the United States’ European Allies constitutes nearly unprecedented interference in US domestic affairs.

The European Parliament said that the decision which has not yet been released would result in ‘backsliding in women’s sexual and reproductive health.’

European abortion bans by weeks pregnant

“In a preemptive strike before the American Supreme Court has even had a chance to rule on the legal future of abortion, globalists in the European Union’s so-called parliament passed a measure on Thursday by a margin of 364 to 154 (37 abstentions) to “remind” the United States that it is “vital” to uphold Roe v Wade.

“MEPs [Members of the European Parliament] condemn the backsliding in women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights worldwide including in the U.S. and some EU countries, calling for safe access to abortion,” the lawmakers said.

Croatian socialist MEP Predrag Matić added: “The draft opinion of the Supreme Court of the United States is a shock and a nightmare.”

The resolution also targeted individual U.S. states for introducing limits on abortion access, such as Texas, which under its heartbeat bill has banned abortion after six weeks, when unborn babies begin to develop their own distinct heartbeat.”

The condemnation doesn’t make much sense, as Europe’s abortion laws shed light on how the United States stands alone in the western world for its extremely permissive abortion laws.  In Europe, most countries only allow abortion on demand up to 12 weeks.

Narrow exceptions are usually made after 12 weeks, including if the pregnancy poses a threat to the mother’s life.

Under Roe v. Wade, states can only regulate abortion after the point of viability, which begins at 24 weeks.  Europe’s condemnation of the United States rings hollow and reeks of virtue signalling.
