After the Biden regime released tens of thousands of migrants into the United States by using humanitarian parole, a federal judge in Florida put the administration on blast and ruled that its actions were unlawful.
As the Biden administration worsens the country’s immigration crisis, it has been using parole as a tool to prevent overcrowding at the U.S.-Mexico border. This allows migrants to enter the U.S. more quickly than they already were able to.
A lawsuit was filed by Republican Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody alleging that the administration’s use of parole at the border is illegal, as it is supposed to be used on a “case-by-case basis for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit.”
On Wednesday, Judge T. Kent Wetherell ruled that the Biden regime’s use of parole was unlawful and stated that its border policies have “effectively turned the Southwest Border into a meaningless line in the sand and little more than a speedbump for aliens flooding into the country by prioritizing ‘alternatives to detention’ over actual detention and by releasing more than a million aliens into the country – on ‘parole’ or pursuant to the exercise of ‘prosecutorial discretion’ under a wholly inapplicable statute – without even initiating removal proceedings.”
Wetherell condemned Biden’s border policies, comparing them to a flashing “Come In, We’re Open” sign.
“The unprecedented ‘surge’ of aliens that started arriving at the Southwest Border almost immediately after President Biden took office and that has continued unabated over the
“There is nothing inherently inhumane or cruel about detaining aliens pending completion of their immigration proceedings,” Wetherell added.
In response to the ruling, AG Moody said, “Today’s ruling affirms what we have known all along. President Biden is responsible for the border crisis and his unlawful immigration policies make this country less safe. A federal judge is NOW ordering Biden to follow the law, and his administrations should immediately begin securing the border to protect the American people.”
