New photos of the disgraced FTX boss, Sam Bankman-Fried, in prison, were released to the public.

In the photos, we can see a messy Sam standing next to a known Bloods gang member.

Sam Bankman-Fried was arrested on seven fraud and conspiracy charges after stealing $10 billion on his crypto exchange platform.

The New York Post shares more:

A shaggy-haired and bearded Sam Bankman-Fried was pictured alongside a former Bloods gang member in the first jailhouse photo of the disgraced crypto kingpin after he was convicted of fraud.

Crypto crime reporter Tiffany Fong posted the image to YouTube on Monday, noting that the inmate next to the disgraced FTX boss is a gangster named G-Lock whom she had interviewed.

G Lock told Fong the photo was taken at the troubled Metropolitan Detention Center last Dec. 17 — six weeks after Bankman-Fried was found guilty on all seven fraud and conspiracy charges related to stealing $10 billion from users of his failed crypto exchange.

Bankman-Fried, who remains at the Brooklyn jail while awaiting sentencing on March 28, is seen wearing an oversized T-shirt and gym shorts alongside G Lock, who told Fong that the 31-year-old former billionaire is “a good guy. Weird as s–t, can be strange. But he is a good guy.”

The jail only allows inmates to be photographed around Christmas and Father’s Day.

The photo is spreading around social media like wildfire:

Business Insider shares more:

Representatives for Bankman-Fried and the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center declined to comment on Fong’s photo when reached for comment by BI.

Bankman-Fried has been at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since August. He was initially placed under house arrest but was remanded after US District Judge Lewis Kaplan said there was probable cause to believe that he’d tried to “tamper with witnesses.”

The Brooklyn prison is infamous for its poor living conditions, with one former warden calling it “the most troubled facility in the Bureau of Prisons.”

Besides wrestling with the hygiene standards in prison, Bankman-Fried also has to figure out how to pass the time without the internet since inmates are only allowed radios or MP3 players.

In November, a jury found Bankman-Fried guilty of seven counts of fraud and conspiracy in his criminal trial in Manhattan federal court.

A lot of these crypto scams end up ruining lives.

People put their savings into these wallets and hope that they will become the next bitcoin billionaire.

Unfortunately, many evil people prey on the optimism of others and use it to make themselves rich.

The judge did the right thing in putting Sam behind bars.
