After a Washington Post reporter peddled false information on Florida Governor DeSantis’ FEMA response to the Surfside building collapse, DeSantis’ press secretary Christina Pushaw fired back on behalf of the governor (SEE BELOW).

It’s really no surprise that the leftist media and Democrats would use this tragedy as an opportunity to slam DeSantis even if the accusation isn’t true. Democrats would love nothing more than to find any error by DeSantis because he’s a superstar Republican who has aspirations for higher office. He’s done a fantastic job in Florida going against everything the blue state governors have done during the pandemic.

The problem with the tweet below is that it’s still on Twitter. According to Fox News, DeSantis Press Secretary Pushaw stated that she has contacted WaPo’s Dreier for a retraction but has yet to receive a response. Many fake news stories are shared thousands of times before any action is taken to correct the lie. Once the lie is corrected, it’s usually too late. This is a tactic the media uses in cahoots with Democrats.

Washington Post reporter Hannah Dreier posted a tweet of FEMA’s response to the recent building collapse in Surfside. Dreier concluded WRONGLY from the FEMA statement that DeSantis had waited over a crucial twenty–four hours to provide emergency relief for victims:

“There’s a saying in emergency management: The first 24 hours are the only 24 hours. FEMA was ready to deploy to the condo collapse almost immediately and included the crisis in its daily briefing, but didn’t get permission from Gov. DeSantis to get on the ground for a full day.”

Twitter blew up with responses to the lie:

Jeremy tweeted back:  “Time to kill another conspiracy theory: How this works: Emergency declaration from the local government -> state government -> federal government.”

Press Secretary for Governor DeSantis Christina Pushaw shot back at the hack reporter:
“This is missing important context; Hannah Dreier never asked me for comment. The emergency response started within minutes of the disaster led by Miami Dade County, amazing first responders. county mayor signed local emergency dec 4:40 & Gov Ron DeSantis signed no less than 1hr later.”
