A knee-jerk reaction to the Parkland school shooting was signed into law today. A gun control bill that puts restrictions on so many things involved in the purchase of a gun was signed by Florida Governor Rick Scott. Here are the restrictions:
AGE DISCRIMINATION? WILL THIS PART OF THE LAW GO DOWN AS UNCONSTITUTIONAL?
The law raises the minimum age to buy a gun to 21 and adds a three-day waiting period for all firearm purchases.
BUMP STOCKS WEREN’T EVEN USED IN THE FLORIDA SHOOTING:
Bump stocks are now banned.
THIS IS A VERY SUBJECTIVE SLIPPERY SLOPE:
Florida police can ask judges to confiscate weapons from those deemed a threat to themselves or others.
THE BEST PART OF THE BILL:
The bill funds training and arming of school personnel
Via Free Beacon:
Family members of all 17 Parkland victims signed a statement supporting passage of the legislation.
The Coach Aaron Feis Guardian Program, named in memory of the assistant football coach at the school who died protecting students from gunfire, will create a $67 million program for county sheriffs to train school personnel to neutralize an active school shooter.Keep reading…
THE REAL PROBLEM IS BEING IGNORED: THE FBI DIDN’T REPORT CRUZ AND LOCAL POLICE FAILED TO BEFORE AND DURING THE SHOOTING:
OUR LATEST REPORT ON THE FAILURE OF THE SCHOOL DEPUTY:
AUDIO OF FRANTIC DEPUTY During Florida Shooting Show He’s Lying About Where He Said Shots Were Coming From [Audio]
Deputy Scot Peterson was just caught in a big lie now that audio tapes are out from the Florida school shooting:
Broward County Sheriff’s deputy Scot Peterson has said publicly that he thought the gunfire was coming from outside, but in newly released audio, he can be heard saying that the shots came from inside, the Miami Herald reports:
Cruz was dropped off at the school by an Uber at 2:19 p.m. Two minutes later, he entered Building 12. He began firing within 15 seconds. Peterson, at the time, was near the administration building.
At 2:22 p.m. the fire alarm was triggered, blaring throughout the entire campus. The first 911 call also went out, via Coral Springs emergency dispatch center.
“I think we have shots fired, possible shots fired —1200 building,” Peterson radioed at 2:23 p.m.
At that moment, according to the video, Peterson arrived at the southeast corner of Building 12, where he appeared to remain “for the duration of the incident.” “We’re talking about the 1200 building, it’s going to be the building off Holmberg Road,” Peterson said frantically seconds later.
Peterson, according to the timeline and radio dispatches reviewed by the Miami Herald, remained focused on Building 12.
“All right… We also heard it’s by, inside the 1200,” Peterson said at 2:25 p.m.
But internal radio dispatches released by the Broward Sheriff’s Office Thursday show Peterson immediately fixated on Building 12 and even radioed that gunfire was happening “inside.”
And, just as school shooter Nikolas Cruz was fleeing the building after killing 17 people, Peterson warned his fellow officers to stay away — even as wounded students and staff lay inside.
BROWARD POLICY IS TO GO IN:
Policy is to go into a shooter situation but Peterson failed. He lied to cover it up too.
This is not the end of the story…We’re sure more will come out about the total failure to help anyone in the school.
