Fox News is reporting that 82% of the vote is in for the hotly contested US Senate race in Florida.

With only 82% of the vote in, Democrat Bill Nelson currently has a slight advantage:

Bill Nelson currently has 3,194,318 votes

Republican Rick Scott has 3,147,984 votes

The bad news for Bill Nelson is that Republicans are crushing it in the “Panhandle” region of Florida, where the polls close one hour later.

Republican strategist, Bree Tide is reporting the following “Panhandle” numbers:

PANHANDLE UPDATE: Bay: Turnout 52.03% GOP: 38,298 DEM: 15,563 Escambia: Turnout 59.44% GOP: 63,665 DEM: 44,049 Okaloosa: Turnout 61.04% GOP: 53,187 DEM: 16,089 Walton: Turnout 59.52% GOP: 20,310 DEM: 5,382 Polls close in less than an hour

These numbers could be enough to push the race over into the “red” column.
