Florida’s new governor isn’t wasting any time pushing for a bold ban on sanctuary cities in his state. He is demanding cooperation with federal immigration authorities when it comes to the illegal immigrant population

Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis is supporting several bills in the Florida state legislature that would make it against the law for police departments to refuse to cooperate with ICE and other immigration officials. Any law enforcement official who refuses to cooperate with ICE would be fined or fired.

“We take our responsibility to protect our citizens, foster safe communities and uphold the rule of law very seriously. I am also calling on more local law enforcement agencies to work with the federal government to ensure that accountability and justice are being upheld throughout our state.” – Gov. Ron DeSantis

Other states with sanctuary cities should take note. DeSantis’ approval rating is at 60%. That should send a message to authorities in sanctuary cities that legal Americans want to be put first.

Fox News reports:
“This problem that we have right now, is a problem that has been festering in the United States because it has not been solved by the federal government for the past 40 years,” said Florida Republican Rep. Blaise Ingoglia. “Quite frankly, you know since the last mass amnesty, if you will, in 1986 under Ronald Reagan, we were always promised that we would have some sort of… legal immigration reform and it never came.”

A recent crime in Jersey City, New Jersey, a sanctuary city, called attention to the fact that the criminal had been deported two times prior to the brutal murder of a woman:

We’ll say it again like we’ve said it so many times before: This crime was 100% preventable!

This is what happens with open borders and sanctuary cities. Jersey City is a sanctuary city! Sanctuary cities protect people like this murderer and rapist.

The suspect in the rape, strangulation and drowning death of a 45-year-old New Jersey woman is an illegal alien from Honduras.

According to Carolina Cano’s roommate, she had gone out for an early morning jog on Sunday and never came home.

After a search, the 45-year-old was found dead in a local lake close to her home.

Carolina was still wearing her sneakers when she was found by Jersey City police in the lake and hadn’t been there long.

The Medical Examiner determined her death was caused by “strangulation” and “water submersion”.  She had also been sexually assaulted.

ABC News reports:

After detectives viewed video evidence, Jorge Rios was charged with murder, felony murder, kidnapping, and aggravated sexual assault. Rios lives nearby and was a frequent visitor to the park, according to detectives.

The video evidence revealed that Rios followed Cano as she was jogging with headphones on then raped her. He murdered her by “strangulation” and “water submersion.”

The Jersey City Mayor spoke out about the murder but never mentioned the fact that this crime was 100% preventable and that the suspect is illegally in the U.S.:

“Our understanding is that it was strangers, and he frequented the park, and we feel real comfortable that we have the right person based on his statements. When you understand the video, the background, and the statements, this was just a horrible situation. The entire circumstance was a terrible thing, and the prosecutors did a great job wrapping it up quick.”

Since Jersey City is a sanctuary city, would they be liable for the death of Carolina Cano?
