Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night talk show has long been a cesspool of Trump Derangement Syndrome, and a series of guest hosts has proven more than willing to keep up the trend.

Most recently, Jelly Roll filled in for Kimmel and took several cheap shots at President Donald Trump while discussing his own weight loss.

As USA Today reported:

“According to the Washington Post, a lot of doctors are worried about the president’s weight,” the singer, 41, said on the Aug. 24 episode. “After his last physical, we found out Trump gained 14 pounds, which means he’s now tipping the scales at almost 240. It’s crazy.”

As for himself, he recently hit a new weight loss milestone.

“Think about this, y’all. In the last few years, I’ve lost 300 pounds. That means I’ve lost an entire Donald Trump,” Jelly Roll said. “And let’s be honest, based on his approval ratings, it seems like most of the country wants to do the same thing.”

But the “Son of a Sinner” singer said his comments on Trump’s weight are no worse than comments the president has made about others.

“We shouldn’t be making fun of the president for his weight because we know that he would never do that to other people,” he said, before playing several clips of Trump calling people “fat slobs” and “fat pigs.”

“If that ain’t the pot calling the kettle fat. Well, Mr. President, from one fat pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness is very important. And trust me, you’ll be happy to see your” manhood again, he added.

His crass commentary sparked massive social media backlash:

Jelly Roll weighed in with a message for those upset with his comments, as the Daily Beast reported:

He displayed a headline from The Wrap, titled: “Jelly Roll Stuns ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ Audience With Multiple Jabs at Trump: ‘Didn’t See This Coming’.” The article included several comments from fans appearing to be confused by the rapper’s political affiliation, with one writing, “Wait, hold up. Isn’t Jelly Roll MAGA?”

The star delivered a message to anyone taken aback by his quips, saying on Tuesday night, “It’s because I’m hosting a damn late-night show. That’s where you talk about the news, and you make jokes.”

Jelly Roll said he was surprised by the reaction. “I have to say, as a former felon, drug dealer who has lost 300 lb, has tattoos all over his face and won three Grammys, this is the weirdest thing I’ve ever done to stun people.”
