Elizabeth Warren was greeting supporters at a campaign event in Iowa when she had an encounter with a dad who asked about Warren’s free college proposal.

The father worked double shifts to pay for his daughter’s education and wanted to know if he’d get his money back: “My daughter is getting out of school. I’ve saved all my money. She doesn’t have student loans. Am I going to get my money back?”

The answer Warren gave is pretty unbelievable: “Of course not.”

The irritated man shot back: “So you’re going to pay for people who didn’t save any money, and then those of us who did the right thing get screwed.”

Warren smirked and said: “No, it’s not anyone got screwed …”

The man replied: “Of course we did. My buddy had fun, bought a car, went on vacation. I saved my money. He made more than I did, but I worked a double shift for the extra money for my daughter since she was 10…So you’re laughing at me?”

Warren replied: “I’m not.”

The angry man called Warren out: “Ya, that’s exactly what you’re doing. We did the right thing, and then we get screwed.”

Warren gave a lame response: “I appreciate it.”

The disgusted man said: “Nah, that’s alright.”
