President Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani had this to say about the Mueller team:
“They are sick puppies. This whole thing started as an orchestrated attempt to take the president out of office as an insurance policy.”
He told Fox News that Michael Flynn’s supposed offenses compared to “spitting on the sidewalk” which is why Mueller recommended no jail time for Flynn.
Giuliani said that nothing in the just-released memo suggested collusion between Trump and Russian officials. He called the investigation “overzealous media-inspired prosecutors.”
Giuliani told Hallie Jackson of MSNBC “They don’t have bubkis”:

OUR REPORT ON THE SENTENCING MEMO:
The special counsel just announced a decision on ex-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
They say that his cooperation was ‘substantial,’ and recommend a lenient sentence with little or no jail time for him.
“Given the defendant’s substantial assistance and other considerations set forth below, a sentence at the low end of the guideline range — including a sentence that does not impose a term of incarceration.”
The memo also noted Flynn’s 33 years of military service as a reason for a lenient sentence.
The sentencing memo was filed in court today. The memo discussed all factors the court should consider when sentencing the former Trump staffer for lying to the FBI.
“The defendant deserves credit for accepting responsibility in a timely fashion and substantially assisting the government.”
Flynn was interviewed 19 times by the special counsel.
Mueller’s prosecutors released a heavily redacted filing that offered little help in providing any clue into what Flynn testified to.
Prosecutors had this to say about Flynn’s testimony:
“The defendant provided firsthand information about the content and context of interactions between the transition team and the Russian government.”
“Additionally, the defendant’s decision to plead guilty and cooperate likely affected the decisions of related firsthand witnesses to be forthcoming with the special counsel and cooperate.”
