On April 3 Congressman Madison Cawthorn, who was paralyzed 7 years ago in a car crash, stood up in front of his fiancé at their wedding ceremony. Wearing custom-made leg braces, he was on his feet next to his bride, Christina Bayardelle, as they stood for their vows.

In a tweet celebrating his marriage, Cawthorn writes:

On April 3rd of 2014 my life changed. A car accident put me in a wheelchair. On April 3rd of 2021 my life has once again changed. Marrying Cristina Bayardelle, now Cristina Cawthorn is the greatest honor, privilege, and adventure of my life. Trust in God. He moves Mountains!
Back in December,  Cawthorn proposed to his current wife after practicing for four months to learn how to kneel.
Cawthorn, the youngest U.S. Congressman in over 200 years, has been an avid supporter of Donald Trump. He recently took to Instagram to post a video of the two together at Mar-a-Lago in which Trump expresses his support for the young Congressman.
The young Congressman has battled significant backlash and hate from the Left since taking office. Most recently, allegations of sexual misconduct have surfaced, all of which he has expressly denied. There have also been past accusations regarding his disability and the events of the car crash that has left him paralyzed.
