Congressmen Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Warren Davidson (R-OH) proposed a constitutional amendment to prevent states from obtaining an Electoral College advantage based on illegal aliens in the population.

“Congressional districts should be drawn based on the population of US citizens only. The Census should specifically count US citizens for apportionment of representation. Only US citizens are represented by the US Congress. California has 5-7 extra members of Congress because the Census uses the total population. I have legislation that would end that practice,” Davidson said.

“I have cosponsored this proposed Amendment to the Constitution. Currently, Congressional districts are apportioned to states based on the population of citizens and NONCITIZENS which gives states with numerous illegal aliens an advantage in Congress and in the Electoral College,” Massie wrote.

“Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to provide that Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the number of persons in each State who are citizens of the United States,” H.J. Res. 37 read.

“Thank you, but this amendment isn’t needed. It’s already unconstitutional to count noncitizens in the allocation process,” one X user commented.

“This could be changed without a Constitutional amendment, and even without a law, but then it would be challenged in the courts. The best way to put it to bed is a constitutional amendment,” Massie responded.

“This is why every Democrat supports open borders. Their goal is to flood our nation w/ illegals, count them in the next census & create new seats in congress. The dems view the carnage caused by open borders as collateral damage in their quest for power. This bill is a must pass,” former GOP congressional candidate Joe Kent said.

“U.S. Representatives should be representing U.S. citizens ONLY! Illegal immigrants neither deserve nor have a right to representation. The Left will do whatever it takes to win elections and to advance their radical agenda,” Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) said.
