Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) said Friday a hearing vote on impeachment inquiry will happen.

She said a vote would likely occur in October.

“Hearing vote on impeachment inquiry is going to happen… likely in October,” she said.

“My office will be filing an appropriations rider to block federal funds to jurisdictions/ federal funding from being used to prosecute presidential candidates before 2024. We’re not letting these megalomaniacs use tax payer dollars to fund this divisive and illegal trash,” she added.

“Luna was likely referring to the arrest of former President Donald Trump in Fulton County Georgia where he surrendered on 13 felony charges related to alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election result in the state,” Just the News noted.

Just the News added:

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has hinted before in recent statements that the House could launch an impeachment inquiry into President Biden as soon as the House reconvenes.

“The thing that holds up whether we’ll do an impeachment inquiry: Provide us the documents we’re asking,” he said during a Fox Business interview. “The whole determination here is how the Bidens handle this.”

“If they provide us the documents, there wouldn’t be a need for an impeachment inquiry,” McCarthy continued. “But if they withhold the documents and fight like they have now to not provide to the American public what they deserve to know, we will move forward with an impeachment inquiry when we come back into session.”

“You as Speaker McCarthy have not yet made up your mind whether to actually launch an impeachment inquiry?” Larry Kudlow asked.

“Well, listen. The thing that holds up whether we do an impeachment inquiry: Provide us the documents we are asking,” McCarthy responded.

“If they provide us the documents, there wouldn’t be a need for an impeachment inquiry.”

The Hill reports:

McCarthy at one point added they were seeking bank statements and credit card statements, though did not specify for whom.

“If they hold that up, we would have to move to an impeachment inquiry. Which you know, Larry, gives the apex of power to Congress when it comes to our subpoena power and others to get the documents we need. The bank statements, the credit card statements and others. Show us where the money went, show us were you taking money from outside sources? And that would clear most of this up, but they seem to fight it every step of the way,” he added.

But an aide for the House Oversight Committee, which has led the investigation into the matter, confirmed the panel has not requested such documents from the White House.

At the end of June, Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) told Kudlow in an interview that the panel’s investigation and expertise are “centered around bank statement and bank records,” but went on to note that the committee has received “100 percent” of what it requested through subpoenas.
