Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) appeared on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Show last night, where he explained his decision to prevent biological males from competing in female sports in his state.

Yesterday at the Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Fl, Governor Ron DeSantis stood on a stage filled with student-athletes and made the announcement that the days of biological males beating female athletes in his state are over.

DeSantis explained to Tucker that he would not allow himself to be bullied by leftist leaders of powerful corporations into making decisions that will hurt the girls in his state from competing fairly in sports. “You can’t be cowed by these organizations, particularly by woke corporations, from doing the right thing,” DeSantis said.

Tucker asked Governor DeSantis how much corporate pressure he was under not to sign the bill. DeSantis told Carlson that after heard the NCAA threaten states in a statement saying they would not hold events in states that enact bills that protect girls from the discriminatory practice of competing against biological males, that he spoke with FL Speaker of the House to  say, “We definitely gotta get this thing done!”

The bold Republican governor told Tucker, “It is discriminatory to force girls to compete against biological males.”

DeSantis explained why he wouldn’t allow the NCAA to bully him, “If the price of having a tournament is that I have to deny equal opportunity to hundreds of thousands of young girl and women athletes throughout Florida—I am much more willing to stand with the girls—and to hell with these events!”

We’re standing with our folks; we’re gonna do the right thing. So, if corporations wanna come here and bully us, they’re gonna go nowhere. It’s gonna be like hitting their head against a brick wall.”
