A vehicle plowed through a crowded parade of Liverpool supporters celebrating the team’s Premier League title.

The horrific incident occurred around 6 p.m. local time in Liverpool’s city centre as thousands of fans gathered for the celebration.

Emergency services quickly arrived on the scene, and authorities detained a male suspect.

A car has ploughed into a large crowd of football supporters in Liverpool.

Police said a man had been detained as images showed injured people being stretchered away.

Large numbers had gathered to watch the victory parade for Liverpool FC, who were celebrating winning the Premier League when the incident happened at around 6pm.

Footage showed cordons in place around the heavily littered road, with a large police presence, ambulances and a fire engine also at the scene.

Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister, described the scenes as “appalling”.

According to reports, police arrested a 53-year-old white British man following the incident.
