In a post to Facebook in January 2018, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote that the company is making a series of updates to show more high quality, trusted content, including exposing users to more local news. That’s not exactly what happened though. Posts from top conservative Facebook pages either disappeared from the Facebook newsfeed altogether or were rarely seen by their followers, while vile, far-left political pages with multiple fact check violations are thriving, and even being paid by Facebook for spreading hatred and division through “original” videos on their platform.

In 2012, we started our 100 Percent Fed Up Facebook page as a way to counter the mainstream media’s leftist spin on the news.  Since we knew that most of our friends were regularly using Facebook, we decided that it would be a logical place to start.

Within one year, we were stunned at the popularity of our conservative news Facebook page. We told our followers the truth about the Obama regime’s commitment to flooding our country with unvetted foreigners. We revealed the Democrat Party’s insatiable desire to make gun control a reality in America. We exposed the underbelly of the left and how they don’t play by the same rules the rest of America. We introduced George Soros to our readers and explained his role in helping Barack Obama fulfill his promise of fundamentally transforming America. Along the way, we exposed the far-left media and how they were not to be trusted.

Almost overnight, the number of likes on our Facebook page exploded, and we were seeing engagement numbers that were hovering around 32-26 million in a week. Like many of the top political pages on Facebook, we attracted a different type of user to Facebook. Our readers were passionate about our country; they were coming to us for the news they couldn’t find in the mainstream media, which they no longer trusted.

During the 2016 primary election season, we began to notice a drop in the number of “likes” on our page. Representatives from Facebook began to actively pursue us, asking us to spend advertising dollars with them. They arranged phone calls with us, where we discussed how our traffic would increase if we spent money with them. Since we also own a news website (, we agreed to make a considerable investment in advertising with Facebook as a way to bring more readers to our Facebook page and our website. Once again, traffic on our Facebook page exploded.

Once it was clear that President Trump would become the GOP candidate, we devoted a tremendous amount of energy into helping him to get elected. The traffic on our Facebook page exploded. Then, only 12 days before the 2016 presidential election, without any warning, our 100% Fed Up Facebook page was unpublished. Without any explanation, Facebook closed our page with over 1 million followers. On our page, we found a notification from Facebook that read, “Your Page has been unpublished and it cannot be published again.”

Breitbart News wrote about Facebook unpublishing our page and contacted them for an explanation. They were told that unpublishing our conservative Facebook page with a massive following was “a mistake” and that they would reinstate it.

One month after President Donald J. Trump’s inauguration, our pro-Trump, conservative news Facebook page lost an incredible 90% of traffic.

The traffic to our website that by design, relied primarily on Facebook, plummeted. We went from 9.3 million views in February 2017 to 1.7 million views in February 2018.

2018 Google Analytics:

Like many of our conservative friends on Facebook, we could’ve accepted our fate and thrown in the towel, but after making a large financial investment on Facebook to build our audience, we were not willing to walk away. We decided to stay and fight back.

For years, we had multiple phone, and email conversations with employees at Facebook tasked with appeasing conservative page owners like ours. Each Facebook representative told us the same thing—You’ll never see that kind of traffic on your Facebook page again.

In the real world, what kind of company gets away with convincing its customers to pay a small fortune in return for helping them to grow their business, then lights their business on fire and walks away unscathed?

We reached out to other top conservative influencers on social media in an attempt to find solutions to what we saw as an obvious ploy to eliminate popular conservative news sites with large followings on social media. The Gateway Pundit, Western Journal, Young Conservatives, and others all claimed their traffic had been decimated by Facebook’s new “algorithms.” Through our discussions, we discovered the common thread among top Facebook pages hit the hardest, was their support for President Trump. Curiously, the engagement numbers for the Daily Wire, whose editor-in-chief, Ben Shapiro, has been a vocal anti-Trump personality, have exploded since the 2016 election.

With almost the same number of followers, The Daily Wire engagement numbers were almost 14 times higher than ours.

In June 2018, we traveled to Washington D.C. with The Gateway Pundit owner Jim Hoft, where we met with several top lawmakers, including Senator Rand Paul (R-KY). Each lawmaker we met with seemed genuinely concerned about the effect the censorship of conservatives would have on future elections if Facebook and other left-leaning tech giants were allowed to control the narrative of the news. Many of the lawmakers didn’t understand how Facebook worked and were uncertain about how to deal with the serious threat of censorship from the tech giants. All of them asked us to bring evidence of unfair treatment with conservative pages versus liberal pages.

It’s been one year since we met with lawmakers in D.C. who asked us to provide them with evidence of favoritism by Facebook for left-leaning political pages over pro-Trump, conservative pages. After one year of watching the unfair treatment for pages who dare to support President Trump, we finally have evidence of a far-left, facts-challenged page which operates under a completely separate set of rules on Facebook.

Occupy Democrats, a far-left Facebook page that’s dedicated to pushing hatred for President Trump, his family, his administration, and his supporters, has over 7.7 million “Likes” (followers) with weekly engagement numbers hovering around 40 million. Since 2015, the site has seen gained an astounding 7.2 million new followers. The owners of Occupy Democrats, Rafael, and Omar Rivero are twin brothers; they are also Mexican immigrants.

In 2017,  while 100 Percent Fed Up Facebook traffic was down by 90%, the Miami New Times interviewed the Rivero brothers about the amazing success of their far-left Occupy Democrats Facebook page. They wrote, “according to a recent analysis by BuzzFeed, it [Occupy Democrats] wields more influence, at least on Facebook, than virtually any other news source in America.

Here’s a portion of the Miami New Times interview:

From this setting, the ideology-driven Ivy League grad, who was born in Mexico and grew up in Miami, runs a lucrative political news empire. With a keen sense of what resonates with his liberal audience and a knack for creating clickable content, he seems to have cracked the elusive Facebook code. Launched from his parents’ West Kendall apartment and helmed with his twin brother, Occupy Democrats is now the leading political page on the left, according to a recent analysis by BuzzFeed. It wields more influence, at least on Facebook, than virtually any other news source in America.

This isn’t your grandmother’s journalism,” Rafael Rivero says. “It is the Wild West of journalism — a new form of communication that’s reshaping the way Americans consume information and how they feel about it. And there are a few kingdoms, of which ours is just one.”

Occupy Democrats, for its part, has been called “partisan and unreliable” by Snopes, and four of its posts were rated as “Pants on Fire” by PolitiFact — meaning fact-checkers determined the posts made “ridiculous” claims. BuzzFeed’s analysis, meanwhile, concluded about 20 percent of the group’s posts were false or misleading.

For some odd reason, fake news accusations by third-party fact-checkers don’t seem to affect traffic on Facebook for the Rivero brothers. Politifact has an entire page dedicated to false or mostly false news published by Occupy Democrats. Their Occupy Democrat page was reaching tens of millions every week, while popular conservative pages, like ours, were either being squeezed out by Facebook’s “new algorithms” (that kept followers from seeing their posts in their newsfeed), or they were shut down as part of a massive purge by Facebook.

In 2015, Omar Rivero complained about being outmaneuvered by Republicans on Facebook, saying, “If the Riveros can help it, that will never happen again.”

With a little help from their friends at Facebook, the Rivero brothers have so far been able to accomplish their goal, crushing all of their competition, including 100 Percent Fed Up, whose Facebook traffic was reduced by 90% almost immediately after President Trump’s inauguration. (See Facebook post reach numbers below. In one day, we were reaching almost 10 million people in February 2017.)

In spite of multiple fact-check violations by third-party fact-checkers used by Facebook, the growth of the anti-Trump, pro-immigrant, Occupy Democrats’ Facebook page continues to explode. Only three weeks ago, their audience engagement numbers were at 43.1 million. 100% Fed Up’s engagement numbers for the same week were at 198K.

The Rivero brothers appear to have some powerful friends in D.C. On the cover of both of their personal Facebook pages, the Rivero brothers can be seen sitting with 2020 Democrat presidential candidate, Senator Elizabeth Warren, who is obviously a fan of the Occupy Democrats Facebook page owners.

Rafael Rivero frequently posts vulgar images of President Trump from his “Liker” website, a social media site he created to compete with Facebook, on his personal Facebook page.

Images like the one below of Jesus Christ “drowning” President Trump with the copy “LOL” typed by a Facebook page administrator above the image, are commonly found on the Occupy Democrat page:

Last week, Facebook identified the image depicting President Trump about to fall to his death from the top of a skyscraper as one of their “top posts.” The copy accompanying the Occupy Democrats vile image asks, “Be honest, what would you do in this situation?”  Within days, the image had over 13K shares.

74K Facebook users responded to Occupy Democrats’ question to their readers, asking if they were given a chance, would they kill President Trump?

The image below of a Hispanic American was used by Occupy Democrats without his permission. We spoke with the legal immigrant from Columbia, whose image they used in this post. He’s considering suing them for using it without his consent.

The far-left Daily Beast trashed Omar Rivero’s “Liker” site, calling it a “hive of false claims about President Trump, many of them taken from the Occupy Democrats Facebook page.

In the world of the anti-Trump Facebook #Resistance, no one has a bigger soapbox than Omar Rivero, the founder of the Occupy Democrats Facebook page.

Rivero’s success has also brought attention to Occupy Democrats’ relaxed attitude toward the truth. Occupy Democrats has repeatedly been dinged by fact-checking sites for posting exaggerated or invented news stories, earning several “pants on fire” ratings from PolitiFact, and amassing a number of mentions on hoax-debunking site Snopes. Brooke Binkowski, a journalist who covered Occupy Democrats as the managing editor of Snopes, told The Daily Beast that the page’s headlines were often “extremely misleading.”

Many of the videos that appear on the Occupy Democrats Facebook page portray violence against people, while a large number of the videos promote racial division and hatred towards President Trump and his supporters.

Here is a sampling of what Occupy Democrats library of videos looks like:

The Occupy Democrats Facebook video (below) shows a profanity-laced confrontation between two women on a beach. There is no explanation about the video except what Occupy Democrats tell their viewers. They claim that a “racist woman is attacking a Mexican-American “spiritual guide” in the video. With no evidence of their claim, Occupy Democrats falsely tie the confrontation between the two women to President Trump, saying, “This is what Trump has unleashed on America…” President Trump is never mentioned in the video. A Facebook ad for Nissan appears in the middle of the video.

Who, at Facebook made the decision to place a Nissan ad in this vile video?

Although Facebook warns about violating intellectual property rights in their guidelines for monetization of videos, Occupy Democrats regularly use videos from cable networks like Fox News and MSNBC to push a negative message tied to President Trump in their videos monetized by Facebook.

This Fox News video below appeared on Occupy Democrats Facebook Page with yet another Nissan ad appearing in the middle of the video. Did Fox News give Occupy Democrats permission to use their video for purposes of promoting hatred against our President? Is Occupy Democrats sharing the monetization they receive from Facebook for using someone else’s video and adding their logo to the top right corner of the video?

Facebook is clear about their policy when it comes to sharing violent videos on Facebook. On May 23, 2019, one of the owners of 100 Percent Fed Up reported a video on Occupy Democrats showing Heather Heyer being hit and killed by a vehicle; the video also shows another protester being smashed between two cars.

Here is the video:

Facebook responded to the complaint by saying the video does not violate its community standards.

The video is clearly a violation of Facebook’s Community Standards.

When the narrative about the Covington Catholic boys assaulting Native American Nathan Phillips was debunked, media outlets removed the videos used to promote a fake news story. The misleading videos, accompanied by false information about the event, remain on the Occupy Democrats Facebook page, even though they have been proven to be false.

The video showing Nathan Phillips, the Native American at the center of the fake news scandal, who was caught lying about what happened, also remains on the Occupy Democrats Facebook page.

D.C. lawmakers asked us for evidence that Facebook is giving liberal pages special privileges. Occupy Democrats is the perfect example of a radical Facebook page that’s owned and operated by pro-immigrant, liberal twin brothers, who are peddling hate and division for profit while breaking rules others are being forced to abide by on Facebook.

Occupy Democrats isn’t the only vile leftist page being allowed to flourish on Facebook’s platform. Top liberal Facebook page, “The Other 98%” who, like Occupy Democrats, has an entire page dedicated to “Mostly false” news ratings from Politifact, is exploding with engagement and growth numbers on Facebook.

Remember when Facebook said they would be moving to rank “high-quality” news higher in their newsfeed? Is Occupy Democrats and The Other 98% their idea of “high quality” news?

Here are just a few examples of posts identified by Facebook as their “top posts” for the week. The first post from the Independent UK has 7.2K shares

The Other 98%’s top Facebook post has over 18K shares.

Update: Here’s a recent post identified by Facebook as a “top” post by Occupy Democrats this week. The post has over 26K shares in less than three days.

Here’s another “top” post identified by Facebook that appeared on the Occupy Democrat page on Thanksgiving Day. So far, it has over 19K shares.

Is this how Facebook is cleaning up the trash on their platform?

What do you think? After seeing all of the evidence we’ve provided, is Facebook really committed to helping promote quality news, or are they only committed to ridding their platform of conservative, pro-Trump pages with massive followings, leading up to the 2020 election?
