Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary and former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. dismissed rumors he’s considering a 2028 presidential bid.

“The swamp is in full panic mode. DC lobby shops are laboring fiercely to drive a wedge between President Trump and me, hoping to thwart our team from dismantling the status quo and advancing
@POTUS’ Make America Healthy Again agenda,” RFK Jr. said.

“They’re pushing the flat-out lie that I’m running for president in 2028. Let me be clear: I am not running for president in 2028,” he continued.

“My loyalty is to President Trump and the mission we’ve started. Their attacks on my staff, especially Stefanie Spear — a fierce, loyal warrior for MAHA who proudly serves in the Trump Administration and works every day to advance President Trump’s vision for a healthier, stronger America — are proof we’re over the target. We’ll keep moving forward, we’ll keep delivering wins, and no smear campaign will stop us,” he added.

My loyalty is to President Trump and the mission we’ve started. Their attacks on my staff, especially Stefanie Spear — a fierce, loyal warrior for MAHA who proudly serves in the Trump Administration and works every day to advance President Trump’s vision for a healthier, stronger America — are proof we’re over the target. We’ll keep moving forward, we’ll keep delivering wins, and no smear campaign will stop us.

President Trump is delivering on every promise beyond my wildest dreams — ending war, protecting free speech, rebuilding American industry and the American middle class, delivering transparency and gold standard science, and breaking the grip of entrenched interests.

The president has made himself the answer to my 20-year prayer that God would put me in a position to end the chronic disease epidemic — and that’s exactly what my team and I will do until the day he leaves office.

“RFK Jr. says rumors of a 2028 presidential run are a lie meant to divide MAHA and MAGA,” MAHA Action stated.

“President Trump has entrusted him to deliver the Make America Healthy Again agenda — and ending the chronic disease epidemic will remain his only focus until Trump leaves office,” it added.

The Hill noted:

There has been speculation, stoked by moves made by Kennedy’s Super PAC and from Loomer, that Kennedy is eyeing another run at the White House.

Kennedy launched a 2024 presidential bid as a Democrat, then later became an independent before dropping out and endorsing Trump, who wanted to take advantage of Kennedy’s sizeable following among the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) movement.

According to POLITICO, investigative journalist Laura Loomer said she was concerned about Spear’s role at HHS.

She accused Spear of attempting to “utilize her position to try to lay the groundwork for a 2028 RFK presidential run,” the outlet wrote.

More from POLITICO:

Kennedy said attacks against Spear and other members of his staff are “proof we’re over the target.” He did not mention Loomer by name in his post.

Loomer’s targeting of Spear comes after she led a pressure campaign that resulted in the ouster of Vinay Prasad, a vaccine regulator at the Food and Drug Administration. Earlier this week, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles intervened to reinstate Prasad in his original role at the FDA.

While Kennedy appeared to wave off any presidential ambitions for now, his allies appear to be organizing support should he change his mind.

Last month, a super PAC with ties to Kennedy hosted a call with supporters to mobilize grassroots support. Spear joined the call, Axios reported, which was hosted by Tony Lyons, who co-chaired the primary super PAC that supported Kennedy’s presidential campaign.
