House Democrats exploded in anger on Thursday after disgraced Representative and former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Ca. was formally censured by the House of Representatives.

The vote, which was cast along party lines, censured Schiff for recklessly using his powers as House Intelligence Committee Chairman to advance Democrats’ partisan political goals.

In one of the more damning articles in the document that outlined his offenses, he was accused of violating the public trust by fabricating intelligence to smear former President Donald Trump.

The initial measure failed after Republicans attempted to fine Schiff millions of dollars for his offenses, which some Republicans, such as Representative Thomas Massie, R-Ky. opposed.

After the fine was removed, enough Republicans voted in favor of the censure for it to pass.

After the censure vote passed, Schiff was told to come down to the House Well, where he would have to publicly face the charges against him as Speaker McCarthy, R-Ca. read them to him.

Democrats surrounded the Well and interrupted McCarthy multiple times with chants of ‘Shame!’ as he attempted to read off the charges.

Another Democrat yelled out that the censure was a ‘disgrace’ as Schiff became only the 25th Representative in history to be censured by the House.

After the House voted to censure Schiff, Schiff was asked to come to the House Well to have the charges against him read aloud.

Prior to the end of voting, Democrats gathered along the House floor around Schiff in a show of solidarity with the California Democrat.

As McCarthy began to read out the final vote tallies, Democrats on the House floor began to interrupt, chanting, “Shame, shame, shame.”

After this outburst, McCarthy banged the speaker’s gavel and called for order in the lower chamber to no avail, as Democrats continued to chant.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), the former speaker of the House, could be seen among the throng of Democrats joining in the chant.

“Disgrace, disgrace,” cried another Democrat in the crowd.

“The House—” McCarthy began to call for a return to order as Democrats continued to speak and shout comments toward the speaker’s dais.
