In recent weeks, Representative Jim Jordan (R-Oh.) and Representative James Comer (R-Ky.), who Chairs the House Oversight and Government Accountability Committee, said that an unclassified document known as an FD-1023, which details an interview with a source, exists that implicates then Vice President Joe Biden in an illegal pay to play bribery scheme.

The document is allegedly in the possession of the FBI, who said it would cooperate with Comer and Jordan and show the document to members of the House of Representatives.

After the FBI failed to meet a deadline set for Tuesday by Comer and other members of the Committee, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-Ca.) said that the House will be taking steps to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in Contempt of Congress.

Comer did say that him and Wray have a call scheduled for Wednesday to discuss what measures the FBI is taking to release the documents, which are reportedly unclassified and should not take an inordinate amount of time to release.

Still, he called the FBI’s delay in releasing the information ‘obstructionist’ and ‘unacceptable’, further saying that Americans deserve the truth.

The FBI responded by saying that they are ‘committed’ to providing the information that Comer and other House Republicans requested in a way that protects the ‘security interests’ of the United States.

They called threats to hold Wray in contempt ‘escalation’ that is ‘unnecessary’.

The Daily Caller Reports

Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy is threatening to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress if the Bureau does not produce a document alleging potential wrongdoing by President Joe Biden.

“Let me tell Director Christopher Wray, right here, right now, if he misses the deadline today, I am prepared to move contempt charges in Congress against him. We have jurisdiction over this,” McCarthy said Tuesday on “Fox & Friends.”

“He can send us the document, we have a right to look at that, Republicans and Democrats alike in that committee, and if he does not follow through with the law, we will move contempt charges against Christopher Wray and the FBI. They are not above the law.”
