We have 300 sanctuary cities in the U.S. that harbor and protect illegal aliens. You might not even know if your city is a sanctuary city but it would be a great idea to find out and fight against it. Here’s a list of sanctuary cities: SANCTUARY CITIES IN THE U.S.

Here’s just one case of how a sanctuary city helped a criminal hide in plain sight:

A Mexican national, who murdered a police officer after having twice crossed the border into the United States illegally, told a Houston newspaper how sanctuary cities were his friend for allowing him to hide in plain sight.

Convicted killer Juan Leonardo Quintero told The Texas Tribune in a recent interview that sanctuary cities tied the hands of law enforcement by not allowing officers to check the immigration status of people within their jurisdiction.

Quintero first crossed the border in 1994 and was deported four years later after being charged with sexual indecency with a 12-year-old girl.

Although he was told he’d face a 10-20 year prison sentence if he came back, Quintero returned to Houston seven months later. He knew Houston was a sanctuary city where there was a minimal risk of being caught.

His luck held for eight years until he was caught speeding in 2006. When Quintero was unable to produce identification, Houston police officer Rodney Johnson arrested him and placed him in the back of Johnson’s squad car.

Although Johnson searched Quintero, he didn’t search him well enough: he shot the officer repeatedly in the back of the head, killing him.

And because Houston is a sanctuary city, Johnson’s wife is a widow.
