Shocking footage shows a 69-year-old California woman being dragged by a car after trying to stop the thief who stole her Gucci glasses.

Woman being dragged by robber’s car after she tried to retrieve her stolen possessions.

On Sunday afternoon, a woman was sitting in her red Ford Mustang in Alameda, California, when a white car pulled up behind her and a man walked up to the passenger side of the car. He quickly reached into the car and snatched the woman’s purse, which contained a pair of prescription Gucci glasses that the woman cannot see without.

The woman jumped into action, chasing down the robber and reaching into his car to retrieve her stolen property. However, right when she reached in, the robber sped away, dragging her several feet down the road.

A bystander named Bach Ha captured the incident on video.

Ha reported that the victim appeared to be stumbling and struggling to walk after being dragged by the robber’s car.

“When he drove off, I think it caused her to basically just crash into the ground, and when she got up, she was like dazed,” said Ha.

Speaking to KTVU, the woman, who remains anonymous, said, “I’m pissed off because this guy was looking for somebody, and I feel violated. I feel violated, but I feel good because I put (up) a fight.”

Although the victim suffered a head injury and was bloodied from being dragged by the car, she appears to have no regrets about pursuing her robber.

“For me, to fight all the way to the end, I feel good about it,” she said.

Speaking to KTVU, Chief Nishant Joshi of the Alameda Police Department urged others to not pursue robbers.

“Personal items can be replaced, but personal safety, that’s something that we never want to compromise,” said Joshi. “My heart goes out to her. I think the natural instinct or inclination is to go try to get your property back. But there’s a lot of risks that come with that. And in this case, she was injured.”
