President Trump did his share of jabbing Jeb Bush while he was running against him in the 2016 presidential primaries, but when it came to the death of Jeb and George W. Bush’s beloved father, former President George H.W. Bush, President Trump, and First Lady Melania Trump went out of their way to help the family through a very difficult time.

According to Breitbart News, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush praised President Donald Trump on Tuesday for his gracious response to the Bush family after the death of George H.W. Bush.

Jeb Bush said that Trump called him after his father died and “couldn’t have been nicer.”

Trump’s former rival for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016 spoke about his father’s death and President Trump during a Wall Street Journal event in Washington, DC.

He said that his granddaughters joined First Lady Melania Trump and other members of the Bush family on Tuesday to visit the White House and tour the Christmas decorations.

Jeb added that both the president and the first lady were “really gracious” to the family.

USA Today reported – A day before the funeral of former President George H.W. Bush, first lady Melania Trump invited former first lady Laura Bush and a crowd of Bush relatives to the White House, then later joined President Donald Trump in a condolence visit to the Bushes at Blair House in a rapprochement of sorts for two rival clans.

Trump invited the former FLOTUS and a host of Bush children and grandchildren to see the Christmas decorations at the White House on Tuesday morning, but the visit was private and no photographers or reporters were present, said Trump’s spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham.

But later, Laura Bush posted pictures on Instagram of a crowd of Bushes gathered round under the White House portrait of the 41st president, which was draped in black cloth.

“A sweet visit during this somber week,” she wrote in the caption. “Thanks to Mrs. Trump for inviting our family to the White House to see the Christmas decorations and our old friends, the residence staff.”

Jeb acknowledged that Trump was not delivering the eulogy for his father but said that George W. Bush had “first dibs.”

“What people want to talk about is, well, why isn’t the president giving the eulogy?’” he said. “It’s because we have a unique circumstance here: my brother was president.”
