As political fallout still continues to worsen in relation to the origins of the Covid-19 virus, Representative Jim Jordan (R-Oh.) went after scientists and intelligence officials who dismissed evidence that the virus originated in a lab in Wuhan.

Leading scientists, including former Chief Medical Advisor to the President and NIH Director Anthony Fauci endorsed a theory that Covid-19 was released in a wet market in China, and intentionally downplayed evidence proving the lab leak theory.

Three years after the initial outbreak of the virus, leading government agencies gave assessments indicating that the lab leak theory was more likely than first thought.

Both the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Energy have come out in recent months and said that the most likely origin of the virus was a lab leak.

Jordan and Representative Jim Comer (R-Ky.) blasted intelligence officials, including the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) for the coverup, alleging that top officials were aware of the origins of the virus from an early point.

Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan blasted scientists who downplayed the likelihood that COVID-19 leaked from a lab, asserting that they were all aware that it was likely to have emerged from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

“The fundamental question is ‘why?’ Why did they lie to us, and why is it taking so long for every government agency to admit what we all know? Because belief in a lab leak as the start of this is not a conspiracy theory,” Jordan said Tuesday during a hearing of the House Oversight subcommittee addressing the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Why has it taken so long? You knew that early on. You confirmed that in May of 2020, and you knew that within weeks that this thing came from a lab. In fact, I think you say that in your testimony. You say, ‘Lab leak is the only credible explanation. If this were a trial, the preponderance of the evidence is all on the side of the lab leak.’ You knew all that within weeks,” Jordan told former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe.
