Gun rights, or better said, no gun rights, is exactly what President Biden was discussing last week during a Feb. 3 gun violence prevention task force meeting.

Apparently, no one in his administration ‘fact checks’ the things he says about guns or the 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.  Biden has been at odds on this issue with Republican politicians, Democratic politicians, the National Rifle Association, and, most importantly, with millions of Americans.  Citizens want the right for adults in our country to decide for themselves to either own guns or not to own a gun.

Conservative parents and even some liberal parents are currently expressing their opinion around the world on the issue of their children wearing masks in school.  They are simply tired of the government or organizations like the ‘Teachers Union’ mandating that they must wear masks.  Many parents have no objection to using caution and wearing a mask to school; they just don’t want the government and others telling them how to raise their children.

For decades or better yet, centuries, American citizens have debated various issues.  This is what had always made America the greatest country on earth.  Through the U.S. Constitution and through many battles, Americans have earned the right to speak their minds.  We can disagree or agree with any issue imaginable and not face prosecution.  This one fact alone makes us far different than many countries around the world. Indeed, there are countries such as North Korea that make it a sure trip to a penal colony, or even death if one of their citizens or anyone in their country criticizes their leader. In some Islamic-based countries such as Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, it is illegal and can be punishable by death if a person in their country criticizes the Prophet of Islam, Mohammed.

On more than one occasion, Biden has said there were cannons and other similar weapons in use during the writing of the U.S. Constitution and that American citizens could not buy them.  In fact, there was no law or amendment in the Constitution prohibiting one from buying a cannon.  There are only 27 words in the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution. ” “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”?

From FactCheck.org: Last summer, when Biden claimed that the Second Amendment limited the kinds of weapons that could be owned and specifically cited cannons, Saul Cornell, a professor of history at Fordham University, wrote: “While Biden’s specific claim was wrong and poorly worded, he could have easily made his point by saying something like the following: At the time of the Second Amendment, there was nothing to prevent government from regulating arms, including dangerous or unusual weapons.”

Biden further stated, “I’ll keep doing everything in my power to make sure that communities are safer,” Biden said. “But Congress needs to do its part too: pass universal background checks, ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, close loopholes, and keep out of the hands of domestic abusers — weapons, repeal the liability shield for gun manufacturers.”

He continued: “They’re the only industry in America that is exempted from being able to be sued by the public. The only one.”

This statement is completely false.  Gun manufacturers are not immune from lawsuits.  There have been lawsuits against gun manufacturers.

Often, we hear liberal-minded politicians declare the ban on assault rifles. They use such reasons like an assault rifle is more dangerous than any other type of gun.  This also is false.  All guns can be dangerous in the wrong hands.  A violent criminal may use a .22 small caliber pistol and kill someone just as he/she may use an AK-47 or AR-15.  All guns can be dangerous in the wrong hands.  One of the type guns used throughout the history of the mob is a ‘Remington Model 870 Shotgun.  Have you ever heard of a liberal media representative call for the banning of shotguns?  So far, there are few that have.

There is a need to regulate who owns a firearm, but there are already federal and state laws on these issues.  Many Americans are saying enough is enough. President Biden should be more knowledgeable about statements he makes in regard to the regulation of firearms in America. Criminals misuse guns. Regulate and prosecute to the fullest extinct of the law, not law-abiding citizens.
