Joe Biden surfaced from his basement today to attend a campaign event in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Instead of Biden supporters welcoming him to Pennsylvania, he was met with a crowd of pro-Trump supporters.

Back to Lancaster…

In 2006, a man walked into an Amish schoolhouse in Lancaster County and opened fire, killing five little girls.

In 2013, Biden claimed he was golfing in Lancaster during the 2006 shooting, saying he was within earshot and “a quarter-of-a-mile” away from the incident.

There is no record or witness to Biden’s supposed trip, and the closest golf course to the site of the tragedy, Moccasin Run, is six miles away.

Former Lancaster Mayor Rick Gray (D) questioned Biden’s claim, saying he had “no idea” where Biden “could have been” that day

A total of seven golf courses in the Lancaster area said they had no evidence or record of Biden golfing the day of the tragedy

Biden Claimed That He Was Within Earshot And “A Quarter-Of-A-Mile” Away From The 2006 Nickel Mines School Shooting

In January 2013 At The U.S. Conference Of Mayors, Biden Claimed That During A 2006 Golf Outing, He Was A Quarter-Of-A-Mile Away From And Within Earshot Of The West Nickel Mines School Shooting. VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: “It was pure coincidence, I happened to be literally – probably, it turned out, to be a quarter-of-a-mile, back in 2006 at an outing, when I heard gunshots in the woods. We didn’t know. … We thought they were hunters. As I got back to the clubhouse of this outing and saw helicopters, it was a shooting that had just taken place in a small Amish … uh uh excuse me a small Amish school just outside of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. So it’s not just big cities or well-to-do suburbs. It can happen anywhere.” (Vice President Joe Biden, Remarks At U.S. Conference Of Mayors, 1/17/13)

There Is No Record Of Biden Visiting The Closest Golf Course To The West Nickel Mines School, Moccasin Run, Which Is Six Miles Away

The Closest Golf Course To The Nickel Mines Community, Moccasin Run Golf Club, Is About Six Miles Away. “An online search of the area shows that the closest golf course to the Nickel Mines community is Moccasin Run Golf Club on Schoff Road in Atglen, about six miles away.” (Karen Shuey, “Vice President Biden Says He Heard Gunshots From Nickel Mines Shooting,” Lancaster Online, 1/23/13)

The Golf Pro At Moccasin Run Claimed He Never Saw Biden The Day Of The Shooting. “Rodney King, the golf pro at Moccasin Run, said Friday he was working at the course on the day of the shooting and never saw Mr. Biden, who was then a U.S. senator. ‘There’s a lot of things here that I find hard to believe,’ Mr. King said. ‘I looked in my database, and he [Mr. Biden] is not in my database.’” (Dave Boyer, “Biden’s Claim Of Brush With Gun Massacre Questioned,” The Washington Times, 1/18/13)

Curt King, The Owner Of Moccasin Run, Said There Is No Record Of Biden Visiting The Course That Day. “Curt King, the owner of the club, said there is no record of Biden – then a U.S. senator – visiting the golf course that day. ‘When someone of that stature comes to your business, you don’t forget something like that,’ he said. Moccasin Run, the closest club to the Nickel Mines community, is about six miles away. King said he has combed through his club’s database, which records the name of every player who uses the course, to double-check the claim. ‘We have no record of him being here that day, or that he has ever golfed here,’ he said.” (Karen Shuey, “Vice President Biden A Bit Off Course Saying He Heard Nickel Mines Gunshots?,” Lancaster Online, 1/24/13)

The Course Pro Said Even If Biden Was At The Golf Course That Day, He Would Most Likely Not Have Heard The Gunshots. “Even if Mr. Biden had played at the course that day, Mr. King said, ‘It’s very far-fetched that he would have heard it.’ ‘I know he didn’t hear those gunshots,’ Mr. King said. ‘They were inside the school. Even if they were outside, he wouldn’t have heard them.’” (Dave Boyer, “Biden’s Claim Of Brush With Gun Massacre Questioned,” The Washington Times, 1/18/13)

Lancaster City Mayor, Rick Gray (D), Said He Was Surprised By Biden’s Claim

Lancaster City Mayor, Democrat Rick Gray, Said He Has “No Idea” Where Biden “Could Have Been.” “Biden’s comment also has Lancaster city Mayor Rick Gray scratching his head. The Democrat said he was surprised by the vice president’s account when he heard it at the Conference of Mayors. ‘When he said that, I was trying to figure out where he could have been,’ he said. ‘I have no idea.’” (Karen Shuey, “Vice President Biden A Bit Off Course Saying He Heard Nickel Mines Gunshots?,” Lancaster Online, 1/24/13)

Gray Said He Was Not Aware Of Any Political Fundraiser Or Outing In The Area That Day. “Gray said he didn’t know Biden at the time and wasn’t aware of any political fundraiser or outing in the area that day. ‘But I guess I wouldn’t have known if he came to the area just to play golf,’ he said.” (Karen Shuey, “Vice President Biden A Bit Off Course Saying He Heard Nickel Mines Gunshots?,” Lancaster Online, 1/24/13)

Other Courses Turned Up Little Evidence Of Biden’s Visit

Moccasin Run Golf Pro Rodney King Said It Was More Likely Biden Would Have Been Golfing At Lancaster Country Club. “Another golf course in the region, the Lancaster Country Club, is about 10 miles away from the site of the shooting. Mr. King said it’s more likely that a group of golfers including a senator would play there. ‘I would be honored to have Joe Biden play here because he’s a public figure,’ he said. ‘But I put myself in his shoes — Moccasin Run Golf Club would not be the golf course I would go to if I’m going on a golf trip. We are a public facility.’” (Dave Boyer, “Biden’s Claim Of Brush With Gun Massacre Questioned,” The Washington Times, 1/18/13)

  • However, Lancaster Country Club Is About 15 Miles Away And Always Closed On Mondays. “An employee said he’s sure Biden couldn’t have been at the Lancaster Country Club. The club, located about 15 miles away from Nickel Mines, was closed that day – as it always is on Mondays.” (Karen Shuey, “Vice President Biden A Bit Off Course Saying He Heard Nickel Mines Gunshots?,” Lancaster Online, 1/24/13)

The Next Closest Course To Nickel Mines – Tanglewood Manor Golf Course – Is Ten Miles Away And Did Not Host Biden That Day. “The next closest course to Nickel Mines is Tanglewood Manor Golf Course on Scotland Road in Quarryville, about 10 miles away. Owner Dwight Wagner said Biden wasn’t at his club that day.” (Karen Shuey, “Vice President Biden A Bit Off Course Saying He Heard Nickel Mines Gunshots?,” Lancaster Online, 1/24/13)

“Lancaster Host Resort, Also About 10 Miles Away From The Schoolhouse, Was Unable To Track Anyone Down Who Would Have Been Aware Of Biden’s Visit In 2006.” (Karen Shuey, “Vice President Biden A Bit Off Course Saying He Heard Nickel Mines Gunshots?,” Lancaster Online, 1/24/13)

“Wyncote Golf Club In Oxford Is The Next Closest Course At 12 Miles Away, But An Employee Was Unable To Find Someone Who May Have Been There At The Time Of The Politician’s Visit.” (Karen Shuey, “Vice President Biden A Bit Off Course Saying He Heard Nickel Mines Gunshots?,” Lancaster Online, 1/24/13)

The Golf Pro At Coatesville Country Club, About 16 Miles Away, Claimed Biden Was Not There On That Day. “A golf pro at Coatesville Country Club on Reservoir Road, about 16 miles away, said Biden wasn’t there either. ‘I have employees that were here at the time and they don’t remember anything like that happening,’ Joe Vigorita said.” (Karen Shuey, “Vice President Biden A Bit Off Course Saying He Heard Nickel Mines Gunshots?,” Lancaster Online, 1/24/13)

Pilgrim’s Oak Golf Course, 16 Miles Away, Did Not Have Any Record Of Biden Golfing There. “Also 16 miles away, Pilgrim’s Oak Golf Course in Peach Bottom doesn’t have any record of Biden being there. Although club manager Peter Trimble said he’s not sure if he would have recognized him if he had been. ‘If he was just dressed like the average golfer and there wasn’t any security with him, I’m not I would have known who he was,’ he said.” (Karen Shuey, “Vice President Biden A Bit Off Course Saying He Heard Nickel Mines Gunshots?,” Lancaster Online, 1/24/13)

Biden’s Press Secretary Stood By Biden’s Claim, But Refused To Provide Any Evidence Or Name The Course

Biden’s Press Secretary, Kendra Barkoff, Stood By Biden’s Claim That He Was Golfing In The Lancaster Area On The Day Of The Shooting. “Kendra Barkoff, press secretary for the vice president, on Wednesday stood by Biden’s comments. ‘The vice president was golfing in the area on the day of the shooting,’ she wrote in an emailed response.” (Karen Shuey, “Vice President Biden Says He Heard Gunshots From Nickel Mines Shooting,” Lancaster Online, 1/23/13)

  • Barkoff Did Not Provide The Name Of The Golf Course. “She did not provide answers to other questions, including the name of the golf course.” (Karen Shuey, “Vice President Biden Says He Heard Gunshots From Nickel Mines Shooting,” Lancaster Online, 1/23/13)
